ORIENTALx — Lisbon, through three different perspectives.

One year after our artistic residency with @procur.arte , we returned to Lisbon for the opening of ORIENTALx, bringing together the work of three photographers: @georgsavetisjans, @louisa.boeszoermeny and myself.

For my series, I explored a lesser-seen side of Lisbon through highly contrasted black-and-white photographs, portraying buildings in neighbourhoods often overlooked by the city's familiar image.

Because what we choose to look at — or leave outside the frame — shapes the way we see a city. For me, paying attention is a form of respect.

A beautiful moment of reunion and sharing!

A project by Procur.arte, developed within Culture Moves Europe, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut.

🎉🎉🎉 I am very, very, VERY excited to announce that 📖 IT’S HERE!🎉🎉🎉

My very first photobook - A Quest for Freedom Vol. 2 is now available for pre-order.

LINK IN BIO or visit mildabooks.com

All I need now is your support for printing it!

It all started with a question I couldn’t let go of - What happened to Klaidonis, the barge my relative James called home in Paris in the 1970s?

Chasing the answer led me into his archive, into the world of his partner, Diana, and eventually to Doris - the artist who owns the barge today.

It’s a family story, a love story, and a meditation on whether a floating home can still hold you steady.

About the book:
📖 Limited first edition of 200 copies, screen-printed and clothbound
🇱🇻 Launching in Riga this December

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SUPPORTING AND SHARING! 🙏

It’s already the middle of summer, and only now I’m noticing in some of my photographs how fast it moves. How it gallops, sometimes kicking up dust with its hooves.
Meanwhile, I keep hiding in my own world — one that develops slowly, like film in a tray, and sometimes refuses to appear at all.
In a rush, I mix up rolls of film, forget things, leave them unseen for a while. And then I come back and watch these frames like my own little movie. A place I want to escape to.
These photographs were taken in Žagarė. I’m still surprised they came from such an intense time during the workshop with Andrew Miksys. But I guess when things are good, they find their way into everything — the people, the light, and the way summer stays in a photograph long after it’s gone.
