Sited behind mature greenery in Los Angeles, this custom residence by @levy_oren of @gesh_group pairs resort-grade entertaining infrastructure with extraordinary trade hand-craftsmanship.

The entryway sets an atmospheric tone with an imported British travertine mantle, vintage limestone vessels from Olive Ateliers, and artwork curated by Brian at Creative Art Partners. In the culinary wing, a show kitchen with Sun Valley Bronze hardware transitions into a secondary service kitchen outfitted with a built-in chef’s glass refrigerator and walk-in oak pantry. Downstairs, the subterranean floor functions as a full-service resort, featuring an 8-car garage, a Portola Roman Clay plaster home cinema with Control4 automation, a chiseled-edge limestone cocktail bar, and a 1,000-bottle barrel-vaulted wine cellar constructed with 100-year-old reclaimed barn timber beams and custom suede cigar drawers.

In the primary suite where dual ensuite baths feature Barbara Wilson marble showers, Exquisite Surfaces tumbled limestone floors, and linen-wrapped dressing cabinetry, panoramic windows look out across the canyon toward the Getty and Catalina Island.

“I always say this is where all the bonus rooms are... It’s very important for us to make sure that we don’t skimp on any part of the house, that all the rooms from the guest bedrooms to the basement guest bedrooms match the flow and style of the whole home.”

Conceived with strong European architectural references, this 10,900-square-foot compound treats its subterranean floor with the exact same material respect as the main level. Accessible via the home’s central three-story spiral staircase or a future elevator shaft, the lower level features a custom wet bar with deVOL copper sinks, a plaster-and-wallpaper home cinema, a gym with dark-tinted mirror walls, a reclaimed stone powder room, and a sunlit guest suite opening onto a private patio.

Outside, a black-bottom pool with chiseled limestone coping anchors manicured lawns, a 14-foot ficus privacy hedge, and a standalone one-bedroom guest house complete with Studio Ore brass fixtures and floating limestone vanities.

We tend to think of lower levels or basements as dark, forgotten spaces, but this home by @gesh_group treats its lower floor with the exact same respect as the main level.

Flooded with natural light and opening directly onto its own private outdoor patio, this floor was built with a split personality.

On one hand, it’s an absolute sanctuary for wellness, complete with a quiet gym and an infrared sauna to decompress after a long day. On the other, it’s the ultimate gathering spot, housing a moody bar and a proper movie theater.

Combined with a completely standalone one-bedroom guest house on the property, it’s a compound built for long summer days, slow mornings, and spaces that adapt to kids of all ages as they grow.

Let’s step inside this $9,500,000 Contemporary French Chateau in Encino’s Royal Oaks, California by @gesh_group.

Rather than leaning into a sterile, ultra-modern aesthetic, the architecture favors deep material gravity and spatial warmth. Inside the 6-bedroom main residence, the open-concept layout relies on staggering ceiling heights, curated vintage lighting, and a strict palette of raw, natural materials to establish a sense of quiet permanence.

The focus on texture carries into every single bathroom and counter space across the estate, each wrapped in hand-selected, highly exotic stones that showcase remarkable organic veining.

It’s a home built with an immense amount of restraint, letting natural materials tell the story. Swipe through the carousel for a full look at the execution, and catch the full tour over on The Luxury Home Show YouTube channel.
