Four months ago, Kyla and I stood in my garage surrounded by twenty five years of memories and chaos. Today, my entire home feels like a sanctuary. Kyla started her organizing business at fourteen years old. She’s a recent USD grad, a friend of my daughter Sydney and somehow became one of mine too. She transformed my closet, my garage, my pantry, and Kelsey’s room with a level of detail and care that genuinely changed how I start my day. If you’re in Southern CA and you need someone who will treat your home like it matters, follow her, share this, and reach out. She’s the real deal! https://www.kyla-barrett4.com/services Go find her at GOK kyla-barrett4.com @getorganized.kyla #calmclearcourageousliving #peacefulhome #mentalcluttercleanup

Transformation Tuesday: Thank God I had my personal organizer before she leaves for college!! Who else needs to clean out their closet this summer?😜 Why is going through your closet and getting rid of stuff so hard??? Anyone else feel that way?!✅ Kyla helped me and encouraged me to discard and re-organize.🙌🏻 Her tips include: 1- Taking everything out of closet 2-Going through by type of clothing 3-Discard if you haven’t worn in a year 4-Hang on matching hangars 5-Put in closet by type, color, length If out of style-get rid of it! If it doesn’t fit, get rid of it If you have repeat of color or type, get rid of it Think about how someone else may really enjoy it and wear it!😊. Thanks @getorganized.kyla for helping your mama! #cleanyourcloset #getorganized #summer leaning #discard #recycle #donate

LMU! Kyla got accepted to Loyola Marymount! Such exciting news!!! Dreams do come true at LMU...as is true of my highschool friend, Linda Cardellini, who always said she wanted to be a Hollywood actress and she did! Starting with “Freaks & Geeks” “Scooby Do” to “ER” and now “Dead to Me”! Check her out! Brings back memories...reminded me of our road trip there in Sept 1997 with Molly McClenahan Miller and Kristi Borrone to visit our friends who were just starting at LMU - Jeanne Cocconi and Linda Cardellini! What fun we had at LMU and exploring the LA area. Great memories- miss you my friends!! I know our cousin, Ashley Barrett, had an awesome time there, too! Congrats Linda on making your dream come true starting at LMU. Gives all these Seniors the ability to form a dream and GO FOR IT!! Continue with your entrepreneurial spirit, Kyla, with your “Go K-Get Organized with Kyla” business. Can’t wait to see which college is lucky enough to have you in their Business School.

Entrepreneur girl! Who else has done some remodeling or wanted to get rid of stuff or get organized this year? Being home more has given us this opportunity! Sometimes, though, we don’t have the time or expertise. Kyla recognized her talent for doing this at age 14 and this entrepreneur started her own business. Her mission is to “help simply your home and life.” She’s grateful to so many of you who were her very first clients from @carikarns, @kimberly.l.dulaney, Chau Wilson, Robin S., Mary Baumel, @corinne_logeman @allysonmccale Allyson McCale to having helped more than 20 clients. She has helped transformed their spaces from pantries, drawers, closets, workbenches, garages, basements, to bedrooms. Most recently, she has discovered how useful it is to work with a child to re-organize their room to make it sustainable and make sure each toy or item has its own place so kids can learn to keep their rooms in order. The parents of these kids are ecstatic. Why? Because kids won’t listen to their parents but they will listen to Kyla and get rid of stuff!! Natalie Myers knows this well and has referred her friends, too. Amanda Rogers has employeed Kyla to help all 3 of her kids and even got but in from her husband when he saw the results!! Contact Kyla if you are interested in some help. She will be launching her Instagram page “get organized.Kyla” with some tips and information so follow. Great way to get things in order for the holidays while kids are home and to start 2021 off fresh! Contact her for a free consultation. *Thanks to @bos131 Uncle Chris Bos Barrett for help creating her logo (get stuff out) and business card and to @kaili_photography for her photography!

Transformation Tuesday: It started Sept 17 and today is Nov 17 and first time to have 2 cars back in our garage!! It takes a village to remodel but I’m so thankful for my friend, Allyson McCale, who helped me every.step.of.the.way!! Not only is she an amazing tennis player and CPA but remodeler!! I’m not one to remodel or know colors or where to even start!! She, along with her fabulous interior designer mom in Texas, Betsy Strauch, gave me great advice and many times told me when my ideas were way out there. She convinced me of heated tile in bathroom, paint colors, lights, flooring, and so much more. I love the finished product!! Thank you, Allyson!! Also, special thanks to Debbie Funk Draper, all the way in Utah, for all of your assistance!! She has been my go-to girl for 14 years for decorating ideas. Finally, Tanya Sullivan for helping me pick out my new dining room table and chairs. Sharon Drury Piffarerio all along the way and Vickie Smith for your ideas, too!! Of course, big thanks to my “organizer, painter, and cabinet transformation” artist, my daughter, Kyla Barrett. She is available for hire abs so worth it! Enlist your friends in helping you if you start this process. So much more fun than doing it by yourself...plus they keep you sane!! @getorganized.kyla
