🎙️ That’s a wrap on Season One of The Long Road Back. ❤️

24 episodes.

24 incredibly honest conversations.

From Olympic medallists to professional athletes to those recovering from double hip replacements, we’ve spoken to people from a huge range of sports, each with their own unique journey through injury and recovery.

Together we’ve explored everything from ACL injuries, concussions, amputations and chronic illness to career-ending injuries, repeated setbacks, identity loss, fear, frustration, resilience, and everything in between.

The biggest lesson? No matter the sport or the injury, so many of the emotions are shared.

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has listened, shared an episode, sent a message, or trusted these conversations. Seeing The Long Road Back resonate with so many injured athletes has honestly meant more than I can put into words.

We’re going to take a short break over the next few months to recharge, reflect, and work on making the podcast even better.

But don’t worry…

Season Two will be back. ❤️

In this clip, @ggraceyoder speaks so honestly about just how difficult comparison can be during injury recovery.

One thing that particularly stood out to me was her reflection on how hard she found looking back at old videos of herself whilst she was injured.

Recovery already comes with enough uncertainty. Constantly comparing yourself to who you used to be can make that journey even harder.

A really thoughtful conversation about comparison, identity, and learning to be present with where you are right now rather than where you wish you were ❤️
