Finding the right words for how @tdbkk.meetup 2026 unfolded isn’t easy for us, but we do know this well: it lived through the unwavering support and generosity of our partners, our panellists that came to discuss openly of how we can positioning Bangkok as a Southeast Asia hub for creative tech, the countless sparks of inspiration from the artists who shared their amazing work, the team that worked tirelessly to hold it all together, and to everyone who visited and walked through the door, thank you for filling it with your thoughts and your joy.

VINA/V 4 - QUAY QUAN Recap
On 15 August, Vietnam Media Lab gathered once again at HVT Villa — an old Saigonese modernist villa of the German Consulate — for a night of live coding, experimental sound, moving images, and audiovisual performance. ✨

A heartfelt thank you to the artists who brought the house to life:

Renick Bell @renickbell × giang.it @giang.it
Flux Collective @flu.xco × DJ Pingu @natsumephan
Jason Ting @jzlabs
Alifka @alifkazz × Kinski @kinski.kinski.kinski

Across sound, code, light and moving images, each performance transformed the villa in its own way — turning the house into a space for experimentation, exchange, and shared experience.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and filled the rooms throughout the night. 💫

The program was supported by Goethe-Institut Ho Chi Minh City @goetheinstitut_hochiminh, under the patronage of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City.

See you at the next gathering.

Join us in celebrating their incredible journeys and contributions:

✨ Hoàng Phạm Gia Khang
Khang holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, focusing on IoT and Data Science. His work leverages sensors, data, and automation to create systems that observe and interact with the physical world.

Since starting in the arts as an engineer for artist Nguyễn Trinh Thi at documenta fifteen, Khang has contributed to works presented at the Thailand Biennale, Vietnam Festival of Creativity & Design, City Tết Fest, and SICF in Japan. His dynamic work spans animation, creative coding, 3D printing, AI, and electronics—bridging fine arts, new media research, and studio design work across Hanoi and Shanghai.

Trained at the Vietnam University of Fine Arts and currently pursuing his Master’s in Technological Art at the prestigious China Academy of Art, Bảo explores how emerging technologies shape culture and how art-thinking transforms technology.

👏 Please join us in wishing Khang and Bảo continued success as they forge new pathways in technological art and innovation! 🚀 ✨

This August, Vietnam Media Lab gathers once again, this time in a new location: an old Saigonese modernist villa of the German Consulate. Within this house setting, we bring together local artists including old-school veterans Renick Bell and giang.it — the “các anh già” — alongside the young buffaloes, or “các chú trẻ trâu,” represented by Flux Collective, winners of CityTetFest’s VJ Competition 2026. Joining them are two international guests: secret “assassins with swollen heads” — “sát thủ đầu mưng mủ” — Jason Ting from the US and Alifka/ Kinski from Indonesia.

Come gather with us for a night of visuals and electronic music!
