POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Definitely not a post for the algorithm, but for those who are in the trenches and feel overwhelmed by everything, and alone in their struggles.

For months I was barely eating, never leaving my bed unless it was to go to the bathroom or grab a snack, barely showering or brushing my teeth, not really talking with anyone, and unable to do anything without crying or at least feeling like I was going to. Adding financial instability, shit weather, no car, and not ideal living environmentโ€ฆ I felt trapped in so many ways.

This isnโ€™t a first for me to be in such a deep pit, but because of that, it also means itโ€™s not the first time Iโ€™ve had to pull myself out. This time around I leaned on old practices, and introduced some new ones. Embodying the phrase โ€œmake it easy before you make it hardโ€ and reminding myself that โ€œrest is productive and necessary.โ€

๐ŸŒป Summary of tips๐ŸŒป

๐Ÿฒ Ate at least one thing every day. Even if it was just a smoothie or microwave meal or granola bars

๐Ÿš Got my groceries delivered

๐ŸŒฒWent for short walks when I could

๐Ÿ›Œ Allowed myself to stay in bed without shame (not easy. There was a lot of shame. But did my best to change how I spoke to myself about it)

โ˜Ž๏ธ Honest about how I was feeling and what my capacity was when people reached out to me

These are not long term solutions, but theyโ€™ve helped me reach a baseline that feels manageable and more myself again, and ultimately brought me out of the worst of it.

Remember to take care of yourself.

this summer I wanted to learn new things and do things just for fun. I wanted to be present and live life and then create art from there. my to-do list is never ending and taking breaks from work is not something Iโ€™m good at but sometimes itโ€™s good to slow down so you can speed up. itโ€™s summer, after all!!!

highlights & side quests include:
โœจrunning the @bynaturalfreedom half marathon
โœจtalking on a PODCAST(!?) with @gidddyyyup
โœจbbq dinners & sunsets
โœจdoing little house projects & making it feel like home
โœจspending time on the water and boat camping
โœจfishing, fishing and fishing!
โœจsigned up for a longboard camp with @singlefinsessions
โœจhiked up to an alpine lake
โœจvery special flowers from @hartman.wt
โœจbuilt a cedar hot tub (video coming soon!)
โœจswam in the river a lot
โœจworked on a fun shoot in the Rocky Mountains
โœจwatched little baby robins grow up and fly away

excited to share new music and projects soon, but for the next couple weeks Iโ€™m going to enjoy the rest of summer and I hope you all are doing the same ๐Ÿฉต

If your job goes away, what is left?

@dreturner and I discuss career ambition and the realization that true fulfillment doesnโ€™t come from climbing the ladder, it comes from having the courage to step off it. ๐Ÿชœ

1 month since sharing Julieโ€™s story, and her message has gone viral!

One of Julieโ€™s superpowers is her openness & vulnerability. She doesnโ€™t shy away from her truth. She meets it head-on, showing grace for herself, embracing every chapter with honesty and non judgement. In doing so, sheโ€™s created a space where others feel seen and safe to do the same.

As a result, countless women, mothers, and men have resonated with her words thanks to her voice. Watching her story ripple across the community has been nothing short of inspiring.

We are so proud to have @juliekennedysmith apart of our platform and have several milestones we want to celebrate:

1. 80K+ views on Julieโ€™s motherhood reel๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง
2. 500+ plays of her episode on @spotify
3. 20 year anniversary of her TBI on Mount Seymour ๐Ÿ‚
