The Power of Deep Weighted Pushup 🧱

If you’ve plateaued with standard pushups, it’s time to change the mechanics. Performing pushups on dip bars allows you to drop your chest below the level of your hands, creating a deep stretch in the pectorals and a greater range of motion that you simply can't get on the floor.

By adding a kettlebell via a weight belt, you shift the resistance directly under your center of gravity, forcing your core to stabilize while your chest, shoulders, and triceps handle the heavy load.

Why this setup works:
✅ Increased Depth: The elevation allows for maximum fiber recruitment at the bottom of the movement.
✅ Neutral Wrist Position: Using the bars can be easier on the joints compared to flat-ground pressing.
✅ Scalable Resistance: Easily swap kettlebells to keep the progressive overload consistent.

Focus on a slow, controlled eccentric (the way down) and an explosive drive back to the top. Keep the core braced to prevent your hips from sagging under the weight of the bell.

Ready to level up your pressing strength?

Drop a "🔥" in the comments if you’re adding weighted calisthenics to your routine this week, or DM me for my full upper body strength split!
