A full week of service, connection, campus life, and Greek unity is coming to Long Island University Brooklyn and Medgar Evers College 💙🤍 The Omicron Beta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated will be out in the community from September 28 through October 2, 2026, and we want you to join us throughout the week. Whether you’re coming to serve, socialize, learn, or simply meet new people, there’s a place for you. We’re kicking things off on Monday, September 28 with Finer by Nature: Zeta Beautification Day at Fort Greene Park from 12:00–3:00 PM, followed by Greek Shazam at Kumble Theater at 7:00 PM. On Tuesday, September 29, catch us at Medgar Evers College from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM for Finer & Ready: Preparedness on the Go, then head to the Breezeway at 7:00 PM for Meet the Greeks: Game Night. The week continues on Wednesday, September 30 with another Finer & Ready: Preparedness on the Go outreach at Long Island University Brooklyn from 11:00 AM–12:45 PM, followed by Wing Night at POM & Honey Cafe at 7:00 PM. On Thursday, October 1, join us for Bingo Night in LLC 116 at 6:00 PM. We’ll wrap up on Friday, October 2 with Voter Registration Day at Long Island University Brooklyn from 12:00–2:00 PM and Medgar Evers College from 2:30–4:00 PM. 🗳️ And one more thing: if you spot the Zetas around either campus during the week, come say hello. 💙 We’d love to meet you, connect with you, and share more about what Omicron Beta has going on. ΑΦΑ History in the African-American Day Parade 💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛 Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. have been ingrained in the history of the African-American Day Parade based in Harlem, NY since its inception in 1968. Former NYC Mayor Bro. David Dinkins served as a previous Grand Marshall alongside Spike Lee. Representative Bro. Charles Rangel served as a previous Grand Marshall. Congressman Bro. Rev. Adam Clayton Powell Jr. served as the first Grand Marshall alongside Shirley Chisholm. This year the brothers of ΑΦΑ were lead by the next generation, our Alpha Mentees - who carried posters of prominent Alpha Men who left major impact on American History. Most men find out too late. Not this June. This Men’s Health Awareness Month, we’re reminding our community that preventive care is not weakness — it’s wisdom. Heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and untreated mental health struggles continue to impact Black men across our communities at disproportionate rates. But too often, the conversation only starts after a crisis. So this month, we’re changing that. From warning signs to free and low-cost Brooklyn resources, this is about making sure our fathers, brothers, sons, friends, and neighbors have the information they need before it’s too late. 🖤 Honoring the dream through service. 🖤 As we continue our Black History Month celebration and reflection, we take time to look back at our MLK Day of service. The women of Delta Alpha Zeta Chapter put our commitment to community into action. Through food distribution, a clothing drive, and on-site health screenings, we worked to meet immediate needs while uplifting and empowering those we serve. Dr. King’s vision lives on when we serve with purpose, compassion, and unity. This was more than a day of service, it was a reflection of who we are.
