POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Just in time for Pride… (but really, pride is every day), our
cult hero Alex Gildzen releases his latest poetry collection, A LITTER OF LISTS, from Sibling Rivalry Press!

During his interview with Briza, he previewed a few of the lists he’s been collecting across the decades. At 83 years old, he’s curated his lists to 55 big ones. We were honored to witness the extraordinary passion, energy, and creativity he’s bringing to his current phase in life (and every other phase of his life, for sure!)

For the full interview with Alex, SUBSCRIBE on Youtube by following the link in our bio or check back every Friday at losagelessfilm.com

And tell us in the comments… what’s your latest list?

For a man “not obsessed with death”, the former librarian and life-long poet Alex Gildzen sure has written a lot of poems about it! He took Briza to his Poetry Bench, a collaboration with artist Emeline Tate in downtown Palm Springs, where the whimsical 83-year-old performed his writing and his life philosophy with a wink and a smile to his friends, both living and dead.

Next time you’re in Palm Springs, take a stroll up North Palm Canyon to sit on Alex’s poem in front of the @trinaturk Palm Springs Boutique. And to read Alex’s most recent collection, A LITTER OF LISTS, you can head to Sibling Rivalry Press to
pre-order.

Today I learned not to be scared, rather to be curious when faced with trials. Which is a weird concept, but actually made me feel better ❤️‍🩹

Thank you to everyone that joined us for @jevpic performance and poetry event for @xoxopalmsprings - good job @gildzen , never knew you were born in a library in Monterey 🩷

To be honest I was scared but also happy to be a part of it. A few friends from @psilovepoetry showed up and @coachellamagazine witnessed it too. Thanks for your pictures 😊

I even got to share a few poems I wrote when I lived in London 🩷

I’ve been processing a lot of lies recently. With family and close friends😔 They know who they are. @jevpic has a heart of gold. Be sure to visit his space for @xoxopalmsprings tomorrow for an expressive experience! Poetry reading happening at 6pm with @gildzen and then myself 😉

☁️💜 Still floating. 💜☁️

What a truly special afternoon at the historic Plaza Theatre. It felt like one of those rare moments where you knew you were witnessing or a part of something extraordinary.

A huge thank you to Michelle Fiore for bringing together such an incredible group of artists and creating a space where everyone could shine. It was an honor to make my Plaza Theatre debut alongside so much talent.

So much gratitude for an afternoon filled with poetry, music, community, and celebration. ✨💕 #Grateful #PlazaTheatre #PalmSpringsArts #livemusic #palmsprings

Today I was told that I’m not trying to work! Which is so untrue. I was hit in such a way that my hip hurts if I stand, sit or drive for long periods of time. I even went to the doctor today to try and figure out the pain.

Friday and Saturday I worked during @truck_stop_art_fair for @xoxopalmsprings in over 100 degrees heat! That was endurance in a new level!

Today I went to visit @jevpic . We didn’t see each other in person but we are going to do a fabulous pop up next week with @gildzen another poet. Going to do another event for @xoxopalmsprings which will be exciting!

Love this art community here in Palm Springs! So special 🩷

Alex Gildzen’s Liszt & Other Lists (that’s not a typo) was published in 1976 in an edition of 100. Copies are in the research collections of University of Cambridge, Princeton and Archive for New Poetry at UC San Diego. Alex smartly squirreled away a private cache, and to observe the 50th anniversary of its publication he is releasing those copies to Sibling Rivalry Press as a special bonus for those who purchase A Litter of Lists - which reprints part of its content. We have SEVEN of these special copies left, and the next seven who pre-order will also get this special publication as a gift from @gildzen ❤️
