Camp Hope ‘25 💜 Some people are lucky enough to live a life untouched by a chronic illness, no daily pain, no long hospital visits, no constant juggling of appointments. Others, like me, have had to learn how to adjust to a different kind of normal, one shaped by challenges, resilience, and a strength we never saw coming. Recently, I had the opportunity to spend a week in San Antonio, Texas, at a camp created for kids living with chronic pancreatitis or who’ve undergone the TPIAT procedure. That week was filled with connection, laughter, honesty, vulnerability and moments that will forever leave a lasting impact on me. What stayed with me the most was the strength I saw in those kids. Every single day, they showed up with energy, courage, and a light that made everything feel a little less heavy. Even while navigating something as overwhelming as a chronic illness, they led with joy, and they reminded me why we keep showing up. To the girls I had the chance to spend that week with, thank you. You truly are my heroes. You completely changed the way I look at this terrible illness. Your strength, your joy, and your resilience continue to inspire me in ways I never expected, and you will always be what keeps me going. To the pancreatitis community, you are stronger than you know and braver than anyone gives you credit for. Thank you for continuing to inspire me. Although this journey has been so unbelievably hard, mentally, physically, and emotionally, I’d go through it all over again for the chance to walk beside the incredible people I’ve met along the way and the life long friendships I have made because of it! 💜 and thank you @national_pancreas_foundation and @rebeccaswishus for making this all happen 💜
