This coffee shop used to be the mayor’s house. ☕🏛️

@gillybrewbar is inside the restored 19th‑century Mayor’s House in historic Stone Mountain Village. Husband and wife @meetdanielbrown and @shellanebrown spent years turning this vintage white home into a café, and they named it after Daniel’s grandfather, Gilly.

In a town with a complicated past, @gillybrewbar is helping write a new chapter one cup at a time. Come for the coffee, tea and elixirs, then stay for the history and the vibes. ✨

Grateful for this life God has blessed me to live. Some of you know Joey, “Boots”, Joe The Soul Coach, etc. but at the core and beginning of all the names was Joseph. The Dreamer born in Gary, IN who’s still making his dreams come true. Living in ATL played such a major role in my becoming. HUGE Thank you to @voyageatl for interviewing me for their Inspiring Stories series 🥹💛🌻✨.

This is for those who never knew how they could become who they always saw thieves to be, those who life’s circumstances told them that it was too hard to follow their passions (all fiftyeleven of em), those who had nothing but Faith to lean on, and those still trying to figure out how it all makes sense. 🫶🏽

Earlier this year we announced the 2026 cohort of The Sprudge Twenty, our annual initiative honoring and amplifying extraordinary members of the international coffee community. Over the past few weeks we’ve published longform interviews with some of this year’s honorees, including Luciano Repetto of @graffeocoffee Vava Angwenyi of @vavacoffeekenya and Janette Watson of @gillybrewbar

These interviews are thoughtful and so very worth your time—we hope you take a moment to click the link in our bio and explore all of this year’s Sprudge Twenty interviews so far, presented by @baristaseries — we have some more incredible interviews coming over the next few days. Thanks so much for reading! #sprudgetwenty #sprudge20

Be honest, would you try a lemon pepper matcha? 👀 🍋🍵

I know it sounds questionable, but @gillybrewbar might be onto something.

The Atlanta Moss did NOT taste like your typical matcha. It was bright, citrusy and honestly reminded me of lemonade. The lemon bitters really came through, while the salt and pepper added a subtle little savory kick at the end. Refreshing, different and somehow it all worked. 🍋🍵

What really stood out to me though? The experience. The staff is absolutely AMAZING. So warm, welcoming and genuinely excited to tell you about the drinks, the space and everything Gilly has going on.

This is the kind of place that has personality. You don’t just grab your drink and leave. You want to look around, explore and stay awhile.

And out of all the pastries I tried, that oatmeal pie was THE ONE.
