I have a feeling these posts are going to be a little light for a while because I’m trying to work my way through the Crescent City series and since I don’t do quotes until I finish the books that slide is out too 🤷🏻‍♀️. But there are so many amazing creators, authors, and illustrators I couldn’t let the highlights go completely!

Guys. I just finished Onyx Storm (hence the lateness of this post) and I’m literally just staring into space trying to comprehend everything I just read and what could possibly come next.

The problem is I’m supposed to start the Crescent City series on Tuesday and read it from 9.1-ACOTAR 6 and I don’t know if my brain will be ready for that.

In other news, no arcs received this week. Also I had a dream last night that I was part of a dragon baseball team and one of the little wild child kids from Kindergarten (another class, not even mine) was up to bat swinging like a hellion with her little half ponies. Brains are weird I’ll tell ya.

About to do a palate cleanser with King of War, even though it’s not one of the arcs on my plate because nothing takes me back to baseline like @sadie_kincaidxx mafia.

Guys it finally happened. I didn’t finish a book this week. I’m actually okay with it. I’m knees deep in Onyx Storm and loving it (I don’t understand all the hate this book got but I read purely for the vibes so maybe that’s it). I have a kindle full of arcs to work through, and lots of reviews that are past due, but I feel like I’m finally emerging from the haze that is back to school season so let’s see what this weekend brings.

Currently three string cheeses deep (what? That’s not a balanced breakfast?) and it’s finally NOT feeling like the seventh circle of hell outside (by this time all week we’ve been on mandatory inside recess because the heat index has been 100 at 10am).

Lots of lovely content to share and hopefully I rejoin the ranks soon. Hope everyone has had a wonderful week! What are you guys reading right now?

Another day, another dollar, another week, another highlights roundup. Once again it took me an entire week to finish a book - a @janehenryauthor mafia book at that, which truly, is unheard of. Usually I binge through those suckers in 24 hours because Jane writes the spice and plot that keeps it moving. This one was no fault to Jane and all fault to the fact that my body does eventually demand rest after I’ve worked it for ten hours a day preparing for and/or welcoming Kindergarten babies. That’s right - school started on Thursday with a staggered entry (girls Thursday, boys Friday) and now it’s Sunday and I’m still wiped out. Kindergarten is fun and exhausting, but you know what’s really exhausting? BUS DUTY. Holy smokes I’ve been living the dream on car duty for the past two years because bus duty about took me out on Thursday.

I did get the ARC copy of Forged by @ashleywarren.author this week and I am already diving in and loving it. I had spent too long away from my true love (mafia romance) and I am enjoying the dynamic right now. Might go back to the Scottish Highlands next or might go back to Basgiath and finally read Onyx Storm, nobody knows but my mood reader soul and she’s not speaking to me yet. I’ve got at least another day with the Marchetti’s so hopefully she’ll get her act together soon.

Feel like I’m babbling so I’ll end it here. Have a great week everyone - maybe this week I’ll actually post real content 🤷🏻‍♀️

This has been a stellar week of reading - three 5⭐️ reads that I could not put down. They 100% made my sleep schedule even worse, but I have no regrets. Now, ask me about those regrets tomorrow when I have to get up and go to school and I’m sure I’ll be speaking a different story, but that’s tomorrow’s problem.
