I got a tour of the Hyper—Garden.

In this “Gio Gets” companion piece, Quinn Carvalho walks me through the work, ideas, tools and creative process behind the world he’s building — from digital paintings and AI-assisted experimentation to animation and his eventual goal of turning it all into a film.

But underneath all the tech, there’s one question that stuck with me:

If you don’t enjoy making the thing… what’s the f—ing point?

Who knew after meeting on a cruise years ago that @giografik would be my Detroit/Windsor tour guide! Even got to tell our whole origin story to the border agent 😎 (by request)

New sights. Good food. Great music. Gambled with the Petrucci posse.
All in all an 11/10 experience. Would recommend.

We talk a lot about “work” on this podcast, but one thing that I love is seeing someone light up when we switch gears and focus on what they do that doesn’t involve hustling for coin.

Quinn and I get into a bit of show and tell on this week’s episode, out now.

Happy to share that my debut single ‘Recognize’ is out on all platforms!

Thanks to @iamdemuja for playing it out in his @hoer.berlin set ❤️

‘Recognize’ celebrates the playfulness and free spirit of my younger self. The song features textured vocal melodies, warm atmospheres, a jazzy celeste lead, punchy fender bassline, and swingy percussion. Emotional, yet club-ready and guaranteed to make you move!
