Some moments deserve to live a little longer. ✨

When we created CARNAVAL Nights, the intention was always bigger than what was on the plate, what was poured in the glass, or what was playing through the speakers.

It was about creating a space where people could gather, experience culture, and genuinely connect.

@__latinag , Founder @ilovelalucha and one of our incredible CARNAVAL Nights partners, shared what she enjoyed most about the evening — the energy of the space, the sense of community, and what happens when people come together with intention.

That is the heart of CARNAVAL.

CARNAVAL began at the roots. 🪶

A grassroots exploration of heritage, family and the flavors that connect us across generations.

As Chef Giovanni Miles began reaching into his family history, he discovered the Caribbean story woven through his lineage — his grandmother, Claudette, from Panama🇵🇦 by way of 🇧🇧Barbados, and his grandfather from Panama by way of Jamaica 🇯🇲

That discovery became inspiration✨

Because Caribbean cuisine is not one island, one flavor or one story. CARNAVAL was created to explore beyond the familiar — celebrating the flavors, cultures and connections that stretch across the Caribbean and throughout the diaspora.

For Chef Giovanni, food should do more than feed you. It should evoke a memory. Take you back to a place you’ve traveled. Introduce you to somewhere you’ve never been. And, for a moment, transport you there. 🌍🛩️🗺️

Just a week and a half before the launch of the CARNAVAL Nights series, we lost Grandma Claudette. What began as an exploration of heritage took on an even deeper meaning — honoring the roots, carrying the stories forward — a continuation of legacy.

This is the inspiration behind CARNAVAL🔱

“We take the Black Star Line, right on home.” 🖤❤️💚

Marcus Garvey understood that liberation required more than freedom—it required ownership, economic independence, strong communities and a commitment to our own.

Patronize Your Own Industries. Build Your Own Institutions. Strengthen Your Own Communities.

And at the center of that legacy is the Black family—passing down identity, pride, purpose and the understanding that what we build today becomes the inheritance of those who come after us.

Build Black. Preserve Black. Pass it on.

Welcome aboard CARNAVAL. ✈️

Destination: Barbados 🇧🇧

For one summer night, we gathered beneath the open sky and let flavor, rhythm, movement and culture carry us somewhere else.

An ode to Crop Over.
A celebration of the diaspora.
A night rooted in connection.

This was CARNAVAL Nights.

And if you were there… you know. 💜

Flavor. Culture. Connection.

Oh, and we did a thing… ✂️🥹

After 5 years—and several requests from Genesis—we decided it was time.

We always said his hair would be his decision. When he was ready, we would be ready too.

Well… he was ready. 🥹

5 years of curls, gone just like that. And somebody is feeling so fresh and so clean, clean. 😎✨

What an incredible night at @EstateFarms for Carnaval! 🎉

Rise and Lyft had the pleasure of being part of the magic on Saturday evening, and wow—the food was absolutely heavenly. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and I’m not gonna lie, I was looking for seconds! 🤤

If you haven’t experienced Carnaval nights at Estate Farms yet, this is your sign. The energy, the community, the culinary artistry—it all comes together for an unforgettable evening. This is an event that should be on everyone’s calendar.

Huge thanks to the team for putting on such an amazing experience. Can’t wait for the next one! 🙌
