There are moments you travel for. And moments that stay with you long after you return. This was both. I travelled to Seattle for the 9th Annual Global Beauty Awards, the Oscars of Pageantry. And I had the honour of receiving the International Brand Ambassador Award. An award that recognises not just presence, but how you represent, communicate, and carry a platform within the world of pageantry. And for me, that has always meant one thing. Using every opportunity, every stage, every conversation to create something that goes beyond visibility. I want to thank @jenniferelloyd , @maureenmfrancisco , and the entire TGBA team for creating something truly exceptional. The level of detail, the care, the atmosphere and the people in that room made this experience truly special. But what stayed with me the most was the women. So many strong, inspiring, and accomplished individuals who carry both elegance and depth. Women who understand that pageantry today is not only about how you present yourself, but how you show up in the world. That is the standard that inspires me. Not every door opens when you expect it to. And over time, you realise it is not always about being ready. It is about being in the right environment. Surrounded by people who understand your value. Who respect your work. Who see not only what you do, but who you are. And when that alignment happens, everything changes. I left feeling grateful, inspired, and even more certain about the path I am on. Grateful for this moment. Grateful for this recognition. And ready for everything that comes next. Each year, the Association for Conflict Resolution celebrates Conflict Resolution Day on the third Thursday of October, bringing greater public awareness to the value of mediation and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes. As a mediator-arbitrator, and conflict resolution practitioner, I believe that empowering people with the knowledge and tools to manage disagreements can transform how we approach conflict. Mediation, arbitration, negotiation, and other dispute resolution processes offer opportunities to address disputes outside traditional litigation, often allowing parties greater participation in shaping outcomes that work for them. These alternatives are not simply about avoiding court. They are about creating space for meaningful conversations, preserving important relationships where possible, reducing unnecessary hostility, and finding practical solutions that move people forward. Of course, litigation remains necessary in certain circumstances. However, understanding that we have options can help us make more informed decisions about how to resolve our differences. Conflict is a natural part of human interaction, differences in perspectives, interests, and expectations are bound to arise. But how we choose to address those differences makes all the difference. Not every conflict needs to end in a courtroom. Thanks to the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) for the invitation to help promote the many Alternatives to Litigation and highlight the importance of peaceful, constructive, and collaborative approaches to resolving disputes. October has become a time to promote and celebrate peaceful conflict resolution practices worldwide. For those of us committed to building a culture of peace through dialogue, understanding, and effective conflict management it is a special time. My message this Conflict Resolution Day is simple: We may not always be able to prevent conflict, but we can choose how we respond to it. Let us continue educating our communities, workplaces, and institutions about the power of dialogue, the value of listening, and the many pathways available to resolve disputes peacefully and effectively.

Nick and I took a trip to DC last summer that I never posted pics from. I can’t believe it’s been a year! He went to a leadership camp while I got to visit my sweet friend Mercy and sightsee. ❤️ What a different year this has been! (Please enjoy the top half of our faces in the last few pictures.)
