Racism should never have a place in sports, especially at the youth level. It is disappointing that what should have been a fun and competitive weekend was overshadowed by negativity and hateful behavior from parents. No coach, player, or family should ever have to feel disrespected, targeted, or unwelcome because of their skin color or ethnicity. Soccer is the world’s game, and it should be a place where people of every nationality, background, and skin color can come together through their shared love of the sport. At Lightning SC, we take great pride in the diversity of our coaching staff and player pool, bringing together individuals from different backgrounds and cultures. We believe every player, coach, and family deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, both on and off the field. Despite the negativity, we remain incredibly proud of our players and the hard work, commitment, and dedication they have shown throughout the fall season. They continue to represent the Lightning family with pride, and that is what matters most. This fall, our teams have continued to excel at the local, regional, and national levels, competing across local leagues, the Great Lakes Alliance (GLA), and the National 1 league. We are building something special, and we have no intention of slowing down anytime soon! We stand for development, respect, unity, and excellence. We will continue to let our work on the field speak for itself. GO LIGHTNING💚💛! #JobsNotFinished #LightningSC #NoRoomForRacism #OhioSports #StarkCounty

PLANTED HERE. BUILT FOR THE LONG HAUL. The OVPL is entering a new chapter in 2027: same valley, a longer view. We're building more than a season. We're building a pathway for adult soccer that keeps the game close to home, makes the process more transparent, and gives clubs something meaningful to grow into. A clear pathway from local soccer to the OVPL, NPSL-RL, and the US Open Cup. 📋 Fees established before the season and shared openly. 🤝 Leadership that stays accessible and accountable to its member clubs. 📍 Regional competition built around our communities. Somewhere in your town, a club is waiting to begin. Bring a team, start a conversation, or help build what's next. 2027 membership is open for men's and women's U23+ divisions. 📍 Indiana · Kentucky · Ohio · Pennsylvania · West Virginia 🔗 Visit ovpls soccer.com or use the link in our bio to get started. #OVPL #AmateurSoccer #OhioValley

Built locally. Connected nationally. NPSL-RL clubs play for their own towns, against regional rivals, in front of people who know them. And every one of them carries national NPSL affiliation and a real line to the U.S. Open Cup. Eight founding regions. A fall-to-spring Championship Division and summer seasons that fit around school. A women’s flagship season with the same stakes as the men’s. Two NPSL-RL clubs are already in Open Cup qualifying this fall. Your region could be next. Late kickoffs run through the weekend of January 9/10. npslrl.com/membership

Why NPSL-RL? Because we asked players and clubs what they actually want, and then built the league around the answer. More training time. Matches that matter. A season length that fits your squad. And a clear list of what’s included before you ever sign anything. A 6-match women’s flagship season. 10 and 12-match men’s seasons. National NPSL affiliation. A real shot at U.S. Open Cup qualifying for every regional champion. No hype. Just a league you can see all the way through. Explore membership: npslrl.com/membership Questions: jbrown@npsl.com ¿Por qué NPSL-RL?
