It’s early to imagine crisp autumn weather while we’re still in deep green summertime, but I am really looking forward to returning to Snow Farm this upcoming October to teach a three day Organic ink Painting workshop. Excited to be back in their lovely 2-D studio to play with organic materials to make ink and explore mark-making and brush painting. It is always inspiring and fun to be immersed in this wonderful hive of creative people; Snow farm is the only residential craft center in New England. There are still a couple of spots left, all levels are welcome in this workshop🍁🍂Details are up on the Snow Farm website and linked through @snowfarmcraft

I began working with organic homemade inks after studying historical materials and traditional
methods with the director of conservation at the Smith College Art Museum in Northampton, MA. The
exploration of organic pigments and mediums inspired me to continue on my own, researching
traditional ink recipes.
Black walnut ink soon because my preferred formula not only for its archival pigment permanence
and stability as a medium, but for the incredibly varied chromatic richness, and the beautiful range of
cool to warm tones that it produces in layering and washes.
I collect black walnuts on hikes; gathering the materials outdoors while out walking and making the

From my current show using homemade inks and gold accents. I have been exploring its function as a highlight element with subtle luster and warmth when catching the light rather than high shine. Incorporating it as a drawing medium that goes quiet in the lower light but is present throughout.

At Hotel del Coronado, history isn’t preserved, it’s reframed 🐚⛵️🌊

We were thrilled to be selected for the recent renovation of this Southern California landmark, shaping an art program that respects its legacy while pushing it forward. Vintage photographic compositions and a commissioned watercolor by a San Diego–based artist root the program in place.

Working within the constraints of a landmark property, every piece was carefully sourced or commissioned, balancing originality with budget while maintaining a cohesive dialogue with the hotel’s history. Historic images are reimagined through silkscreen overlays by a local artist—subtle interventions that bring the archive forward.

A study in nuance, material, and context—where heritage meets a distinctly current point of view ⚓️🪸🥂

I love the whimsical nicknames like Nap-At-Noon and Eleven O’clock Lady given to these flowers because the blossoms often open in the morning, close midday and reopen in the afternoon. The buds look like tiny Easter eggs when closed; kind of magical.

I found this blooming this spring during my time at @lostandfoundlab and was so happy for the opportunity to work on this drawing in my beautiful studio there.
