Super cool experience to learn new @alvinailey dances and techniques at the Charlotte @aileyextension ! Interesting to hear the history and meanings of his wonderful dances and get to really live the spirit of it with new people. Super fun and educating! I saw a need for curriculum that centered our genius, joy, love, and beautyโ€ฆ so I wrote one. Using the HILL Model Framework @gholdym . I wrote a unit for @lovetwinsdance current dance school. The unit integrated Identity, skill, intellect, criticality, and JOY! The culmination of the unit was a group opportunity to witness the greatness that is @alvinailey. The show was unbelievably amazing! We got to reconnect with one of their dance aunties @bahamaballerina, and they fell in love with a new dance inspiration; @awagreen98. ๐Ÿ’ซ The week of amazing was capped off by their favorite time of the year- @aileyextension with @myareaatlanta and two of their fairy-dance-mothers @ljay_w and @beingjustjai โ™ฅ๏ธ They brought heavy hitter legends @glennallensims and @lindacelestesims to train, love, and uplift. ยกThey knew and completed the assignment! Thank you all for being excellent and for setting the standard of excellence. The seeds of your words, actions, and legacy are rooted and bearing the sweetest fruits in our future. ๐Ÿ–คโœจ
