June has been massively momentous - from my oldest baby’s senior prom, to the magnificent spectacle of Laura Donefer’s Glass Fashion Show, to my bittersweet last day teaching for The Governor’s School, to the poignant, family-filled milestone of Tilda’s High School Graduation. It all came too fast, too furious, too fabulous (did they make that one yet?), leaving me breathless even before Ben’s plane taxied away for two weeks in Venice and left me in a solo face-off against the mischievous blue eyes of an adorable despot.

Mad marvelous months like these remind me that I’m so grateful for my family - blood, chosen, glass, and otherwise - and awed by the good fortune the universe keeps throwing my way: The triplet blessings of interesting problems to solve, support systems that give me the freedom to pursue them, and the satisfaction of being able to do good work on behalf of good people. June is certainly not over, but I’ll be determinedly hiding from any further excitement - unless that excitement involves splashing in the pool or at the beach, in which case HMU, I’m 100% down to rally.

Last week at the @glassartsociety 2026 GAS Conference was a dream. I got to see old friends, new friends, and internet friends who I finally got to meet for the first time, and lots and lots of glass.

Definitely got lost for a few hours touring the @corningmuseum, including their new exhibit “Tough Stuff: Women in the American Glass Studio” and staring endlessly at some Tiffany and La Farge windows. Other memorable moments included taking on the glass cutting competition with @grit_and_glasss and watching the jaw-dropping @laura44donefer Glass Fashion Show that the artists spent two years prepping for!

Immensely appreciative to @sgaa_hq and @oceansideglass for the scholarship award that made this magical week possible. Incredible lectures, demos, and just a whole bunch of oddballs coming together over their shared love of all forms of glass. I couldn’t ask for anything more wonderful.
