Thrilled to announce I am now being represented by @portraitassoc .

While we are all taking photos of moments in our lives and our family lives, they remain on the cloud they are no longer in a book. What I love about Oil Portraits is that they live forever and are passed down for generations through the family.

Catching up on my posts. This was from a workshop I did in May with Grace Devito. I learned so much in such a short time. I had a challenging spot with the light behind the model but made it work ok in the end.

“Rare Earth“ a group show
@nightgallery gathers thirty-four artists whose work finds renewed life in the landscape, a subject
as ancient as image-making itself and as urgent as the present moment. A curatorial
continuation of Night Gallery’s 2022 exhibition Shrubs, which surveyed the natural world as a
site of persistence and duality, Rare Earth returns to the land with a renewed sense of
possibility and an abiding conviction that the world as it is remains worthy of looking at, again
and again.

I had the wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow professional artists at this year’s Portrait Society of America conference in Atlanta, Georgia. It was an incredibly inspiring event surrounded by remarkable artists generously sharing their skills and techniques through live oil painting demonstrations... and experiencing the finalist paintings in person was truly unforgettable.
I was also fortunate to attend the 30-year painting retrospective of Jeremy Lipking, recognized as a living master artist, at the Booth Museum just outside Atlanta. Experiences like these are so vital, especially for artists. Gathering in person to share ideas, build relationships, and connect with painters who become like family...offering encouragement, wisdom, and insights from their own unique journeys, is truly priceless💎🎨 Thank you again for everyone who made this special event possible 🙏🏼💖🙏🏼

My biggest regret from last weekend:

I’m not able to split myself in two! There were so many friends to catch up with and lectures to listen to, I wanted to be able to do it all! I’m so thankful for the Portrait society, who puts together such an incredible event every year to inspire and encourage artists!

Second regret:

Not taking enough photos. I guess that’s ok though because I was definitely living in the moment!
