POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’m happy today. And the truth is, it feels rare to be truly happy at the end of a work day. So I just wanted to share this with you all. 😊

Most days are stresssful.

Not pulling my hair out stressful, though I know many if not most of my immigration lawyer colleagues who are still practicing ARE pulling out your hair.

For me, usually, it’s often a low simmer of stress throughout the day.

Maybe it’s feeling that I’m not responding to an email quite quickly enough.

Or not having reviewed the latest redlines for a prospect that I wanted to send yesterday.

Or not posting on LinkedIn early enough (like today - 7pm posting. Yikes! 😅)

And so when most days end, there’s a sense of release and relief, but not actual happiness.

Today was a rare day where I felt happy at the end of the day:

🙌 A big company that hires hundreds of H-1Bs each year FINALLY signed up for LaborLess after months of discussion and contract negotiation.

🙌 Another LaborLess prospect replied and said they’re interested, and asked to follow up in a few months. Still a win.

🙌 Then I ended the day with a fantastic call with a prospetive GMI Rocket client about how LinkedIn can help grow their immigration firm. Looks like we’ll be moving forward.
.
.
.
Maybe sales, as the lifeblood of any business, creates happiness.

Or maybe it was the lack of fire drills and issues (I hope I don’t jynx myself lol!).

Whatever it is, it was lovely to be able to smile at the end of the day with no stress.

Is there a point to this other than just sharing it like a diary entry?

No, not really 😂

But I hope my bit of happiness can be contagious and make someone else feel a tad bit better after a long day.

So we can get back to it tomorrow!!

🚀 Another edition of Marketing & Tech Tips from the Mountains! In this video, I share a pretty simple but often overlooked law firm marketing strategy... asking happy clients for a review.

I know you’ve heard this before. But…

📌 Most lawyers forget to ask for reviews.

📌 Or they feel awkward about it.

📌 Or they wait until it’s too late.

Bu the thing is, when someone’s really happy with your service, they are HAPPY to give you a review, especially if you ask them a the peak of their happiness.

A little story to illustrate:

While I was in London last December for the International Bar Association immigration conference, I tried to find a diner for a classic English Breakfast. I went on Google Maps and eventually found one with 4.9 stars and thousands of reviews.

It was pretty far, but I got in an Uber just to go. There was a guy working there who made you feel like a regular. The food itself was pretty good, but was it 4.9 stars good?

Hars to say. But in the end, that plus the good food resulted in a wonderful experience. In the end, THAT same guy asked every customer for a review when they went to pay their bill.

I gladly left a review, right there on the spot.

So:

✅ Immigration lawyers—this applies to you too. Whether your case lasts a month or a year, ask after a major win or milestone.

✅ Explain why the review helps. Most clients want to help!

✅ Make it easy—have a link ready, or even a little card with a QR code if you see the client in-person.

It’s a simple tip, but it can have a huge impact, especially because Google reviews, website testimonials, etc., influence client decisions.

Any lawyers in my network ask clients for reviews and have tips?

Any good / bad experiences?

Would love to hear about it in the comments!

Later this month I'll be presenting alongside an ACTUAL social media influencer, Jacob Sapochnick (@sandiegoimmigrationlawyer), one of the best-known immigration lawyers in the world, at the @joorneybusinessplans Business Immigration Summit!

(Our session will be on March 26th at 12:30pm EST!)

Jacob has millions of followers across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and more and billions of views across all platforms.

Me - I'm not a TikTok or any kind of influencer (though my LinkedIn isn't bad! 😄), so what exactly are we going to talk about?!

We'll be talking about marketing IN THE ERA OF TIKTOK.

This means in the era of:

🤳 Short attention spans (or so we think).

🤳 Short-form, vertical videos, which scare people.

🤳 Negative and political comments, which people try to avoid.

🤳 Mobile-first society in general.

Despite the session title, we will not be teaching attendees how to breakdance.

We *will* be talking about how to think about marketing in today's digital, social media-heavy world.

Whether that's leveraging TikTok in a way that helps you grow your law practice.

Understanding the difference between short-form and long-form video, what works better on LinkedIn vs. YouTube vs. Instagram, and ideas of in-person marketing, which is ever-popular in today's digital world.

If you're a business immigration professional, please check out the conference - it's FREE!!

Here's the link to copy into your browser: https://summit.joorney.com/

Oh and please tag some colleagues below who might be interested!

😤 "How long will it take me to get to 17,000 followers?!"..... This is a common question I get, and because I'm currently 2 years into learning how to play tennis, I wanted to use a tennis analogy to share my thoughts...

I teach immigration and other professional how to use LinkedIn to grow their brands and businesses as part of GMI Rocket. Part of this work *does* include strategy for adding followers in a thoughtful and effective manner.

But when people ask me how long it will take, or whether a certain number is "good" or "bad," I tell them this:

DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE METRICS!

At least not at first.

In party this is because, well, "it depends" on a lot of things, especially who your target audience is.

E.g. for a broader consumer audience, 17K, 29K or even 50K may not be substantial. But for a niche, B2B audience, 10K followers can build a 6- 7-figure business.

That's why I wouldn't look at metrics at all, or at least not feel married to them, especially in the beginning.

First and foremost you need to get into the habit of creating content, doing it correctly, and baking it into your marketing strategy.

Once that becomes second nature, THEN you can layer on strategy and include looking at metrics and acting accordingly.
.
.
.
Good content marketing is a skill that takes time, discipline, and patience, just like any other skill.

It's like asking, "when will I be able to beat my opponent 6-0, 6-0 in a tennis match?" when you've only held a tennis racket once.

It depends who your opponent is, the surface, the angle of the sun, the wind, and a million other things.

Ask any tennis coach during your first lesson, and they'll tell you "forget about the score - learn your strokes first, and then build from there."

The video here is from some recent lessons with my coach @michael_teper_tennis in 🇮🇱

Today when I got frustrated at something, he told me, "you can't build the 20th floor of a building after the 5th - you have to build all the floors in between."

True.

Same with digital marketing.

Hope this helps.

Any thoughts (or tips on my tennis form), leave a comment!!

Super excited to share that I’ll be moderating a panel at this year’s @ailanational / @paradigmcommunity Annual European Conference next week, on a topic that I think is good for business AND straight up fun: "Leveraging In-Person Events for Marketing and Growth"

I'll be speaking alongside @lopeinigo, Sophy King, @latchi_delchev, and @amitacco — all of whom have experience putting together lots of different in-person events, from small to large, both at home and abroad.

But why this topic now?

🚀 I think in-person events are one of the MOST POWERFUL tools for building relationships, promoting genuine discussions, and, frankly, creating business opportunities.

😣 Yet most people think they CAN'T AFFORD to host an in-person event, that it's too complicated, that they don't have and good ideas, etc...

🙏🏻 My hope is that we're going to DISPEL THESE MYTHS and give you in-person event ideas you can actually implement.

We'll also discern between large-scale events vs. smaller, intimate gatherings — and ways you can do both, even with a small budget.
.
.
.
Personally, I'll be talking about my immigration tennis retreat, my conference comedy shows, and other industry events I've organized.

And because I run @gmirocket, a digital marketing agency for immigration firms, I'll talk about how to leverage digital marketing to help make these in-person events successful.

I can't wait for it.

Can't wait to see so many colleagues in Athens - who else will be there?

A day to remember in 2024! 🤯💫One of my goals for this year was to be open to meeting new people, network with more people and learn from each experience. Until yesterday I didn’t take any effort from my end for this. But I have it my vision board and I look at it everyday and manifest opportunities for me. Universe/God works its magic 🪄and I got to incredible opportunity of meeting @rzelichenko in Bangalore. A Immigration lawyer turned into an entrepreneur from New York! Like what are odds that this could be a usual thing in my life 🤩
We from @lex_reception were reaching out to him for a podcast sponsorship and he happened to be in Bangalore and spent the whole day with me!
I learned so much from this incredible person 🙌
We share so many similar interests we spoke a lot about @mindpositivestore and he shared his experience in creating such successful businesses @gmirocket
Went around Bangalore had authentic food and did some shopping! A day that would mark as an important event for me in 2024!
I can’t wait for you @rzelichenko to look at my planner cum journal and start your self love and discovery journey and share your experience 😇🤍
