To the people that made this possible 1. My wife. @messer.kylie you embody everything that is a Proverbs 31 woman. You are beyond words the way that you love me and allow me to do these crazy adventures. You come with me in tow with our small child(s) and your broken bones. I love you 2. @rimtoriver @laurabaker11 you are incredible. You have made these challenges and handle them with so much grace and love. You embody the Lord in the way you lay down your life and time with your family to give us runners 3 incredible weekends out of the year. Thank you so much for being there when we need you most and for the best hugs/catches (iykyk) 3. My crew @gofasttturnleft @kat.elizabeth_ @aciehylton @messerkendall @mevilesser @lauralynnmesser you kept pushing me to keep going. Seeing your faces at aid stations brought me joy beyond measure and loved me through every step of this adventure. You’re the best I could’ve ever asked for.

kodiak hundred through the lens every time i have the chance to go witness an ultra, i try to be there. being able to witness these events has been incredibly life-changing for me. everyone is pushing their limits, doing something crazy, and going through the same challenges while approaching them from different perspectives. i’ve witnessed friends finish and sometimes watched friends dnf, which is absolutely heartbreaking. this sport has humbled me more than anything else. there’s really no way to fake it. we have good and bad days, and can only hope to do our best with the hand we are dealt. i got to see friends struggle and push through. i got to pace my good friend @scott.a.penfield for the last thirty-two miles of his one-hundred-mile run. those last thirty-two miles were definitely more enjoyable for me than for scott, and i had a lot of time to think. the main thought that came out of it is that it’s okay to want to quit, as long as you don’t quit. actions are much more meaningful than words. last thing: being able to choose to suffer is a privilege that is not lost on me. do hard things with easy people!

Little chill in the air today. Got me super gassed up for another insane season. Last year was truly beautiful. So many sick people have to come together to make all this happen couldn’t be more grateful for all the friends new and old made along the way. Snowboarding soon🙂‍↔️

Ultra is a vulnerable thing. Success is never guaranteed - not even if you’re more prepared and fitter than ever before. But that’s also part of the beauty. It’s hard, it’s unpredictable but it’s a beautiful challenge. Kodiak broke my heart. (DNFing was not my birthday wish that’s for sure). I wanted to take time to sit with that personally before coming back to the public sphere. I can confidently say that I left every stone unturned before this race. I trained hard, brought on a dietician, practiced my nutrition, worked on my head game - everything. I had never felt more ready and excited. But like I said, that guarantees nothing. My stomach gave me issues early, but I got it turned around and found my groove. Then it turned again and despite really bringing back my effort, even to a multi hour walk. I couldn’t even hold down water. I came with specific goals and those became far out of reach. We made the decision as a team to withdraw. I had nothing to prove finishing the distance or death marching. It was better to spare putting my body in a hole and be able to rebound quickly to have the chance to race again before the end of the year. Despite all the disappointment, I can still look back at last week with so much gratitude and plenty of happy memories. As well as plenty of feedback to take back to the team to work on solving more puzzle pieces. My identity doesn’t rest on how I perform. My identity isn’t earned or proved. It rests on who God says I am, He calls me loved. And with that, I can race freely in failure and in success knowing that neither define me. Thank you to all the people in my corner and to my dearest friends that made my time in Cali so bright. I love you all 🤍 I’m definitely not done, the story isn’t over. I’ll be back. I travel a lot, although I rarely take my bike with me. Just got back from an amazing weekend with 8 great guys ranging in age from 22-61. Yesterday, we all tackled around 51 miles by bike in the Harper’s Ferry area. For some, that was simply a workout. For a couple others, myself included, it was a PR. Aside from many hours in the saddle, we had a great time getting to know one another, well beyond surface level. We consumed a lot of bacon, eggs, hamburgers, coffee, fresh baked goods & energy gels. I desperately needed this past weekend more than I realized…and now introvert me has a few more viable options for ‘meet & greet’ on Sunday mornings! Looking forward to next time and the years to come!

A few years ago I handed the keys of @5fyve to a new owner. Easy decision, but hard to tell the team. As we had riders on contracts, I chose a new owner who could be trusted to keep paying and supporting them. I did sell it in a very good position. Looking back, I did way more with it than I had ever expected, by miles, and I’m proud of that. But my energy moved on from the brand. I wanted to master media, development, and filming. This began just over 3 years ago, but the company was always built on media, so I already had a strong vision of the end product. I just needed to learn the full A to Z in between. It is exhilarating learning new creative things, so now I’m even more excited to pour my energy into future projects using the same known ingredients that first created and maintained FYVE for all those years, plus more. There was never a real “moment” to make this announcement as I was quietly staying involved since the sale, but this year I decided to 100% step away. It has been an incredibly exciting journey, but I am proud of what was created and thank all the team, riders, and those who supported me along the way. How it started: • Became a single dad, made a promise: no full time daycare • Built a snowboard company around that promise • 5 years in, producing hundreds of boards • Added summer camps to keep momentum • Camps grew to 200 to 300 campers/year, Japan & Europe, for 8 to 10 years How it grew: • Media became priority #1; built a rider team unlike other brands, developed and funded their travel • Grew socials (TikTok/IG/FB) to 400K+ • A viral product every 2 to 3 years funded the next push • 100+ retailers in Japan, <100 in China • USA became our biggest market. Online + a warehouse new owner has now set up • Strong in Europe too What’s next: • New business in the works, on another level of video production much higher than I have ever done before. Will it be snowboard related? Partly. For the next year or more I will be mastering my craft into media fine tuning and learning as much as possible before launching. “henlo fren, my namez bohduz 🐾” Bohdi told us to say that ^^^ Anyways, welcome to our page! 😊 Bohdi is the newest half of Team Ruckus. We adopted Bohdi June 14th, 2026 at 16 months old. He came from a home where he was dearly loved. Unfortunately his owner was diagnosed with a health condition preventing her from being able to give him the active lifestyle he needs. While we are heartbroken for the situation, we are so thrilled to welcome him into our home and provide him all the love, space for zoomies and exploratory days on trail. Not to mention, the companionship of his big brother Remi. Bohdi is as sweet, fun loving and full throttle as they come. Will go full Sid the sloth mode for cheese. Come join us in this epic adventure of raising two creatures of cuddles and chaos.

Pure Joy 🫶 @cocodona250 week was one of the most joyously full weeks of my life. Full of hard work. Full of love and support. Full of dear friends new and old. I fought so hard to be back on that start line and to give it everything from Black Canyon City to Flag. The last year hasn’t all been pretty, but this week was unbelievably beautiful. Last year I learned what I need to do to take care of myself better to get the most out of myself. I’m proud to have executed my plan dang near perfectly out there. I have so much gratitude for every family member on my team, (yes, @harriss_chriss & @becs_slc you’re family now), every person praying and cheering from home and all over. I felt so much love like never before out there. I ran 13 hours faster than last year and had the best time doing it. Still 6th place 😅 had a couple incredible women out there hey ?! Thank you to the incredible @precisionfandh team for the massive amount of support and new friendships Thank you to @topoathletic and @creeperssocks for making it possible for me to be out there experiencing this crazy sport. Thank you Coach @shesallgood21 for getting me to the fittest place I’ve ever been, it’s been such a joy working together Can’t wait to keep this ultra party going!! Stay tuned. We are cooking up something special 👀🎥

Amazing how much life and adventure can happen within 10 days. 24+ hours in the car roadtripping with @j.e.edwards and Coco, getting the honor to pace and support @kat.elizabeth_ at Cocodona 250 and watch her grind to a 6th place finish in a stacked field, made new friends with the best nutrition partners in the game @precisionfandh, and got the opportunity to go back to the Grand Canyon and experience one of my favorite places with awesome people. Having the privilege to experience God’s creation and share those moments with friends is an amazing thing.
