A hanging installation of @harewoodhouse estate grown hops and lots of sumptuous autumn foliage displays including a giant wreath for @harewoodfoodanddrink for their game & autumn harvest dinner. We foraged on the grounds to add in rosehips and berried Ivy.
Creating with @leafycouture.northeast this was was so much fun!
Working at @thehovelsatharewood the building is really versatile so we decided to create a hanging element to the central point to create drama and shadows as the night unfolded. If you went to the two nights of the event we hope you had the best time the food is always sensational 🌿✨🫶

Hidden Harewood by Head Chef Will Campbell

Hidden Harewood is the dream event for a chef who appreciates the stories associated with the food they’re serving—an opportunity to share all the work that goes into that short six-hour experience.

The best part for me is having the opportunity to connect with guests throughout the evening, share the inspirations behind the food and some of the processes that have gone into making everything happen.

This year’s menu was guided by almost three years of development, creating products and ingredients that are uniquely Harewood, picked at their prime and left to develop flavor over time.

We tried to start the menu with flavours of the Harewood landscape, utilizing mushrooms grown for us by our friends at the Yorkshire Mushroom Emporium and earthy flavours reminiscent of the surrounding woodlands.

The second part of the menu drew inspiration from the grandeur of Harewood House, taking the form of a quintessentially British picnic to be enjoyed by the lake, similar to how many would have throughout history. Guests received a wicker basket filled with gingham napkins, potted meats, and summer salads to graze

The service ware we used for the event was also carefully considered: the crockery came from Iona Ceramics, each piece unique, featuring inlaid grasses from the field behind the kitchen or a glaze made from ash from the biomass that powers the estate. The chefs also got involved, painstakingly hollowing hundreds of kohlrabi bowls over the month.

We finished the evening with s’mores around the fire, allowing guests to create their own marshmallow stacks with brown butter cookies topped with crunchy bites and candies. It’s a fun way to end the night and it allows guests to relax, there’s no rules and they can make it their own

This is special, the passion and enthusiasm from the team, the excitement builds as the evening goes on. We had a blast when it was our turn to experience the night. It sells out every year, get your name on the waiting list to enjoy ✨🌿💫💥
We used lots of plants that can be eaten including strawberries 🍓 artichokes, verbena and mint that we shall hopefully 🤞 plant to be used in the future.

HIDDEN HAREWOOD: ONE OF YORKSHIRE’S MOST UNIQUE DINING EXPERIENCES 🚜🌳🦌

Hidden Harewood is a 20 course moving feast through the hidden corners of the impressive 4000-acre Harewood Estate.

Every Friday and Saturday in July, @harewoodfoodanddrink invites guests to hop on a luxury ‘party bus’ to locations rarely open to the public. At each stop, guests will get to taste new canapés and dishes. 😋

Led by Head Chef Will Campbell, the menu showcases homegrown and estate-reared produce, with each dish thoughtfully paired to its surroundings as well as with English Sparkling Wine producers @nyetimber

One of our favourite locations was The Hovels, where we opted for the Corney & Barrow wine paring, sat at the stunning table scape by @leafycouture🍷

You never quite know where you’re heading or what you’ll be eating next - and that’s all part of the experience. ✨

Hidden Harewood is definitely one to add to your foodie bucket list 🌿

Join Corney & Barrow Wine Merchants on the 11th June for an evening featuring the exquisite Italian wines of Tunella, hosted in collaboration with the Harewood Food & Drink Project.

Enjoy five incredible courses at The Hovels, each paired with a Tunella wine. Dishes include confit trout and Harewood Estate-reared Oxford Sandy Black Belly Pork, showcasing ingredients grown and foraged on-site.

Giovanna from Tunella will share stories and insights about the wines throughout the evening, for a beautiful foodie evening that you simply cannot miss.

A huge thank you to all who joined us for our Mother’s Day at the Hovels event last weekend 💐✨ and a big thank you to our English sparkling wine partner Nyetimber 🥂, who provided Mums with a glass of their classic cuvée to enjoy with their meals.
