🌱🌳🍁THE 2026 MENATMA FALL CONVENING IS TOMORROW! We can hardly wait to see you at “Protecting Dissent: Celebrating Voices from the Middle East and North Africa,” happening THIS WEEKEND in San Francisco, co-produced by @artZaction and @goldenthreadplays as part of a multiyear partnership, “Protecting Dissent,” and presented in conjunction with ReOrient 2026 Festival of Short Plays produced by Golden Thread.

Following MENATMA’s groundbreaking MENA Theater Makers Fund announcement earlier this year, the Convening will feature and celebrate the 18 awardees who represent some of the most impactful MENA and SWANA voices working in American Theatre today.

Can’t make it to San Francisco? Don’t fret! Five sessions will be livestreamed on @howlround
From a conversation exploring our theme “Protecting Dissent: Celebrating Middle Eastern and North African Theatre” to a panel with Iranian, Palestinian, and Lebanese artists discussing “Creating in Crisis,” these sessions will feature some of the leading MENA/SWANA voices working in theater today.

We can’t wait to share space with you, in person or virtually!
