Ducked into a few TriBeCa galleries yesterday while trying to navigate a mental and physical rainstorm ☔️ 💭. Lucky for me the evening ended at Klaus Gallery to listen to @erikaranee and @ej_hauser in conversation. The room was super packed and the ideas flowing. Definitely the treasure at the end of a 🌈!

1. 2. Loren Erdrich & Yehong Mao at Shrine’s “Earth to Sky” summer show! Monochrome spirit energies!

3. A smartly place Wendy White neon ☁️ in Gaa’s stairwell landing! A symbol of the day.

4. Moths in ceramic by Priscilla Fusco were gathering on the wall @asyageisberggallery ‘s Banshees Remix!

5. Grimm Gallery’s “The Garden of Earthly Delights” has some gorgeous Sophie Birch paintings! A new name ✨

6. 7. “Friends in Both Places” @nicellebeauchene has some greats by Alexander Tovborg and Sky Glabush!

8. 9. 10. Jen Wroblewski of @goldmontclair curated a stand out fiber show “Soft Structures” @janelombardgallery! Crystal Gregory embedded her works in concrete, Melissa Dadourian’s mesh collages are stretched on pins and a wild Woomin Kim soft sculpture of 💅 art lifts the weight of the 🌎 (for a few minutes.)

11. Seeing Erika Ranee talking about her solo show “My Saturn Return” with EJ Hauser was amazing. I am close to my own 2nd 🪐 return and am clearly not ready for the ensuing upheaval.

Soft Structures is open and on view at @janelombardgallery through August 8. Such a great show! Featuring ten artists brought together by star curator Jen Wroblewski @goldmontclair ⭐️

“The artists in Soft Structures are centered as engineers and architects; utilizing hard logic and technical maneuvers to build soft objects. In this context, the textile becomes more than a conveyor of color, memory or meaning. With haptic fluency and keen knowledge of technique and tradition, these artists work in dialogue with the textile systems themselves and, in doing so, give us a dignified lens through which to understand them.”

It’s an honor to be showing my loom-paintings in a fully textile context for the first time. This summer I’m making new works for several upcoming shows and I’m going to take a break from IG - please get in touch via email/my website & see you back here in a couple months 🖤
