✨ 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓✨

Feature: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙤𝙣 by Thomas Golianopoulos (October 14, 2025)

🌟Thank you partners @tlcbooktours, @andscape, & @disneybooks for the gifted copy. 🌟

In this feature, the author chronicles how John Singleton reshaped Hollywood with stories that were unapologetically Black, bold, and deeply human from 𝘽𝙤𝙮𝙯 𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙃𝙤𝙤𝙙 to 𝙎𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙡. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙤𝙣 is a powerful portrait of a trailblazing filmmaker whose bold vision reshaped Hollywood before he turned 25. With rare interviews and behind-the-scenes insight, this definitive study captures the brilliance and complexity of John Singleton’s enduring legacy.

QOTD: 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮—𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲?

𝗦𝗬𝗡𝗢𝗣𝗦𝗜𝗦:
𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙤𝙣 will be the definitive account of film icon John Singleton’s life and times.

John Singleton remains the youngest Oscar nominee for Best Director. He was just 24 years old. He was also the first Black person nominated for Best Director. Even with these early accolades, he went on to have a thirty year career packed with classics. From Poetic Justice with Janet Jackson and Tupac to the Fast and Furious franchise all the way out to Snowfall, which continues to educate and entertain after his death.

Featuring groundbreaking interviews and sharp reporting, Singleton will take readers behind the scenes of the filmmaker's works and will also tackle his controversies with original reporting and analysis. From the chaotic Simi Valley set of Poetic Justice to his clashes with producer Scott Rudin while filming Shaft— it’s all fair game.
