So you ask me, “What’s your vision for this room?” My answer simply- “To fill it.” To fill it with people, with energy, with effort, with excitement, with dedication, with confidence, with joy, with strength, with endurance, with power, with community, with support, with friendships, with silliness, with growth, with consistency, with stability, with encouragement, with acceptance, with LOVE. Oh and disco balls! To say that I’m simply a coach doesn’t really do justice to the role… Yes, coaching is a part of what I do in this space, but what I give and what I receive is so so so much more. I hope that every person that ever attends one of my classes feels that. I’m forever changed by every person that I’ve ever met, that I’ve ever sweat with, that I’ve ever counted down 3,2,1 for or high-fived during a transition. Orangetheory has changed my life because of the people, because of the workout, because of the energy, love and camaraderie that is exchanged under those orange lights. Like a disco ball, it takes tons and tons of individual pieces that are imperfect, worn, and very different to create something together that is more vibrant as a collective than each on their own. A lesson we can learn from a disco ball is that you’re gonna shine your light brightly into unexpected places, and doing so without hesitation is beautiful as you know that your light will never dim another’s. So shine your individual light brightly, take in the beauty, love, and energy of the room you occupy and reflect it back to the universe. That is the gift that we each have to make this world a better place. Love to you all. And may you always feel confident to be the disco ball – it never seeks out the party – the party forms around it! 🪩

What a day! Celebrating my sweet friend Erin who has dedicated a decade to the Orange Theory family. She is retiring as our studio manager at @otflamesa but she is family now, so we will keep her close to our 🧡s! Love you, friend. Running with more than a handful of my OrangeTheory friends and 8,000 other fans of Diplo. A 9 am start for a race feels like sleeping in. Then get some daytime dance vibes fun with @diplo ? Yes please! Hardest part was getting HANGRY at the end!
Yes please to more adventures! So grateful to move my body, hug these people and take in the sights and sounds of this beautiful day. Especially right in my neighborhood. And yes, don’t tell my bodybuilder side that I ran two 5k races in 8 days and I’m faster than I would’ve guessed even without being “allowed” to get my cardio in. 😉

750 classes

My relationship with OrangeTheory Fitness is an ongoing reminder that I can and do hard things. I work out early for how it sets up my day and for my 6:05 crew, but getting up before the sun, putting on the shoes, the watch, and the other misc before coffee? Driving to my favorite studio instead of staying in bed? Not easy to close my mouth and open my ears to figure out what the next block includes(@janaenay1 @otfmattsd @l419baby ). Not always easy to push a little harder or give myself a green day (go easy) when I need it.

But choose your hard where you get to make choices.

This life would be harder if I didn’t work on endurance, strength and power. Keep my body healthy for the long haul. There is a lot that I don’t have final sway over, but I can choose to get up every day. To move. To smile with genuine happiness to see people I enjoy spending an hour with even as my heart continues to ache.

The benefits to my mind and soul cannot be emphasized enough. I know that not only is working out working out for me physically, but my community is nourishing a part of me that needs connection. I need to take care of others just as I need to receive. We cheer each other on, hug, and talk a little smack. Over the last couple of years I’ve started to nurture these connections outside of the orange lights. Hiking, brunch, drinks, concerts. We are multipurpose friends who might have a little orange addiction.

May I be blessed to see another 750 hours under the orange lights and all that comes with this commitment.

I DID IT 🧡 I took on an 8 week Transformation Challenge 🙌🏼 , and I transformed my muscles, my body, and my mind.

I consistently showed up for myself.

I modified my diet - a HUGE shoutout to @motherofredheads for her meal plans, encouragement, and for tolerating my texts asking multiple ways if I could eat more pasta 🍝. I also cut out sugar (for those of you who know me, you know that sugar ran through my veins 😬 #swedishfish #circuspeanuts #jujufruits #good&plenty).

I wanted to show myself that I was capable of doing something new & challenging 🙌🏼. I’m so excited for my health journey, and I’m so proud of myself for putting in the work, to achieve these results, and I’m not stopping now 🤩 .

I didn’t do it alone though ! I had help from my OTF friends🧡, OTF Coaches 🧡& the OTF Staff 🧡, and I will be forever grateful for them, for giving me the kickstart, encouragement (as in making me use heavier weights 😂 @janaenay1 ) & support that I needed. I love my 6:05 am Crew, and without them, these milestones wouldn’t have happened for me 🎉💪🏼🙌🏼🧡🧡🧡 #oldladiescandoit #liftheavy #sugarsucks #coffeecreamerdetox
