Our first parent and kid book club was a success! ❤️📚

We chatted with Jerry Craft, author of New Kid, who even shared his screen to do a live drawing for the kids! Such a talented artist and a lovely person. Hearing about his journey and the wisdom he shared left the kids feeling inspired. 🥹

Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Our next parent and kid book club is November 10 at 6:30 pm, and we’ll be reading Smile by Raina Telgemeier. We’d love to see you there! 😄

If your kids loved Smile, Real Friends, or The New Kid, or you’re going to want this book list!

‼️Comment LINK and I’ll send you the 35+ REALISTIC FICTION GRAPHIC NOVELS FOR KIDS AND TWEENS!

📚One of the things I love most about these books is how well they capture the ups and downs of growing up. Changing friendships, sibling drama, peer pressure, anxiety, figuring out where you belong... kids see so much of themselves in these stories.

📖 And sometimes, reading about a character going through something similar makes it a little easier to talk about what’s happening in their own lives.

As a former school librarian and mom, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful that can be. ❤️

📚I’ve organized my favorite realistic fiction graphic novels for ages 8–13 by theme, so whether you’re looking for a book to help your child navigate a tricky friendship or simply a fantastic story they’ll devour, there’s something for everyone!

📌 SAVE this post for your next library visit or book-shopping trip!
👉SHARE with a parent, teacher, or librarian who loves finding the best books for kids!
❤️FOLLOW @LIBRARYMOMBOOKS for more children’s book recommendations and reading lists!

Nerds for Literacy is in Vegas bringing books to kids! Every educator and librarian we work with gives us information on what titles their kids would be excited to read, and it's been so fun giving them out. Here's some of the books we gave out yesterday!

Last Friday @scholastic flew me out to NYC for an authors panel and party and it was one of the best nights in my career thus far! I was the newbie in a ragtag crew of amazingly talented authors/graphic novelists, met a ton of people I have worked with for YEARS, met one of my heroes (Raina!!!), I got to speak extensively to an audience of 200ish people about my memoir #choimeetsworld, and I signed books for so many cool people while the @graphixbooks crew handed me martinis lol. Unforgettable night! Thanks to everyone that was involved 😊

New York Times bestselling cartoonists Raina Telgemeier and Gale Galligan team up for this super special graphic novel.

Available in paperback, hardcover, and e-book wherever books are sold.

Q. Have you ever been in a cruise? I have only been on one, and like this book it was to the Bahamas! Where did you go in your cruise? Or where would you like to go if you have never been on a cruise?

📚 September Reads 📚

Started the month strong with finishing Ruthless Boys which was a great time with my bestie @jypsysjournal. Spent time in the middle with a cafe/reading tour of St. Louis with friends. Finished up with a 3 day reading marathon before jetting out of the country.

Some other month highlights:
🎈🎂Celebrated two of my kiddos birthdays
📚🚢Took my oldest and one her besties to Babysitters Club Super Special book event. Thanks @novelneighbor and @stlouiscountylibrary for bringing these authors out to inspire the younger generations.
⚽️ Soccer started. Call me coach for my middle kiddo.
👯‍♀️👯‍♂️ Visit from my brother, SIL, and nephew where the cousins had a blast together
✈️🇮🇹 Italy trip with my husband to celebrate 10 years

Favorite of the month? Warrior Fae (Ruthless Boys #5). I cannot with how binge worthy this entire series is. The banter is 🔥. Excited to jump back into the Zodiac world soon!

🎧 4 audiobooks
📚 3 digital reads + 4 physical reads

I hope teachers don’t come at me for saying this, but sometimes it’s okay to let your kids skip school. 😅

They’re not going to remember every single day they spent in a classroom, but they WILL remember the day you surprised them with a trip to @newyorkcomiccon.

Took my kid on Thursday to avoid some of the crowds but the best part was she got to meet one of her favorite authors @goraina.

Something tells me she will remember this day for a long time. ❤️
