It’s Frieze Week! For the uninitiated, it’s sort of like the art world’s version of Fashion Week, but much less chic and with a far higher rate of suspiciously large bank transfers. Everyone flocks to Regent’s Park to see what’s what inside the big white edifice (not the afterlife – the Frieze tent, aka the menty-B factory).

As is tradition, the Plaster staff have squeezed our remaining brain cells together to compile this exhaustive Frieze Guide. You didn’t ask for it, but we did it anyway. Enjoy, lads x

If there’s any week that requires a bit of TLC and retail therapy, it’s Frieze Week. These are, in our humble opinion, the best places to shop.

Happy Bookshop Day! To celebrate, we’ve asked library staff to name some of their favourite London bookshops. Tell us your favourites in the comments, and check our stories for a few extra (we couldn't pick just 10!)

(Tenderbooks: 6 Cecil Ct, London WC2N 4HE, tenderbooks.co.uk) Ever wonder where we get some of our special collection art books? Often the answer is Tenderbooks. They specialise in fashion, photography, art, design, and rare and out of print books.

(Word on the Water, Regent’s Canal Towpath, King’s Cross, wordonthewater.co.uk) Word on the Water is cute and cosy, with a wood-burning stove and occasionally a shop dog. It’s moored on the canal right at CSM’s doorstep.

(Bookmongers, 439 Coldharbour Ln, London SW9 8LN bookmongers.com) A used bookstore in Brixton, established in 1992, this shop is full to the brim in the best possible way. Let serendipity be your guide!

(Books, 20 Maxted Rd, London SE15 4LF, books-peckham.com) Small but mighty, this shop in Peckham sells secondhand books and new zines, with outposts at Neurodiverse and outhouse gallery in Camberwell.

(Notting Hill Comic Exchange, 30 Pembridge Rd, London W11 3HN, mfeshops.com and Gosh! Comics, 1 Berwick St, London W1F 0DR, goshlondon.com) Two absolute gems for all your comic and graphic novel needs!

(The Common Press, 118 Bethnal Green Rd, London E2 6DG // 97 Stoke Newington Rd London N16 8BX, commonpress.co.uk) The Common Press is an excellent and intersectional not-for-profit queer community space and bookstore, with locations in Shoreditch and Dalston.

(Donlon Books, 75 Broadway Market, London E8 4PH, donlonbooks.com) An independent bookshop and publisher in east London, Donlon books stocks everything an art lover could dream of!

(Housmans Bookshop, 5 Caledonian Rd, London N1 9DX, housmans.com) One of the longest running radical bookshops in the UK. Just around the corner from CSM, it’s got events, book clubs and 1£ bargain books!

(Libreria, 65 Hanbury St, London E1 5JP, libreria.io) A beautiful bookshop with a mirrored ceiling that gives it a slightly funhouse feeling. Arranged with interdisciplinary thinking in mind, so browse to your heart’s content.
