Showed up to OTF today not wanting to be there. Didn’t PR. Didn’t cry. That last part is new.

Today was 200m benchmark day. I have a love/hate relationship with that rower AND it’s embarrassing but I’m the kind of person who used to cry when I didn’t hit my goal. Like actually cry.

I went anyway. Didn’t PR. And walked out just fine.

I was on the treadmill when I heard Coach Crystal’s voice cut through to the second group on the rowers. “Showing up and doing your best is always better than not showing up at all.” She wasn’t even talking to me. But I felt it.

Something has shifted in me. I don’t know if it’s getting older or finally taking care of myself from the inside out, but the version of me that used to fall apart over a benchmark? She’s not running the show anymore. And I kind of love that.

Anyone else relate to being your own worst critic? Drop a 🙋‍♀️ below … I know I’m not alone in this.

During times of darkness, remember that there is hope, and that this too shall pass. 🌈

When I snapped the reference photo a few years ago (swipe left to see photo ➡️), I was going through a lot. I was driving and had all kinds of racing thoughts going through my head, but as soon as I saw the rainbow, I had to pull over to take it all in. I was on the verge of tears and seeing the rainbow was a perfect gift to remind me of the promise of a better day to come. That even in difficult times, there is beauty, hope and love. This is not the end, we will get through this together ❤️

Sunflowers will always hold a special place in my heart. 🌻 When my baby girl was fighting for her life in utero, I envisioned her skipping and laughing through a sunflower field, then without warning she turns around to hand my partner and I a sunflower and in a sweet voice says, “Everything is going to be okay mommy and daddy!”
.
That vision gave me so much peace before I knew of what was to come. It’s amazing how much those words have stuck with me ever since. No matter if I’m feeling overwhelmed or when I’m missing her, I remember “Everything is going to be okay”.
.
I smile because despite the uncertainty of these times I know there is so much to be grateful for. I know that in the end, everything is going to be okay. ❤️🌻❤️

Hey everybody! How are you guys doing? I’m still hanging in there, I’ve been enjoying the weather from my backyard. Which made me notice I have plenty of rocks around & you can do so much when you have some paint! Here’s my list of rock painting ideas! You can even use sharpies. And also don’t forget to leave the painted rocks around the neighborhood. The body part rocks also sound crazy but I couldn’t think of any way other way to word it & I love love love the body part rocks, they can even be simple parts. Here are some beautiful examples I found, the body part rocks I found on google.. @heart.of.rocks has the cutest ladybug rocks! @got_heartstudios has these awesome positive rocks! @rockoville1892 has the cute Easter theme rocks!
