True Leaders Lead With All and In All Situations, Leaning In To Conflict, Creating Opportunity. I Appreciate The Acknowledgement Of RestoreHER Being Invited To White House, First Ever Prison Reform Summit. I Was Asked To Participate On The Panels “Success In The States” and “Women’s Issues”. I Shared These Panels With The Governors Of Texas, Oklahoma, & New Mexico, Attorney Generals Of Indiana & Michigan, National Policy Columnist, As Well As Directly Impacted Women Amy, Sue Ellen, and Topeka, With Jessica Sloan Moderating. I Was Able To Share My Experiences, The Work I Am Spearheading, And The Need For Directly Impacted To Be Involved In Decision Making, Implementing Protocol For Prosecutors Allowing Fairness To Accused, Anti-Shackling, Solitary, & Meeting The Needs Of Incarcerated Women. They Agreed That Directly Impacted Should Be Involved, Also To Curbing The Power Of Prosecutors, Governor Of Oklahoma Let Me Know She Had Just Signed The Anti-Shackling Bill, Governor Of New Mexico Informed Me Of Their State Programs For Women, And They Requested To Continue The Conversations In Order To Create Solutions. It Was A POSITIVE PRODUCTIVE Day For RestoreHER!

Thanks to New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez for taking time today to talk about the dangers of alcohol consumption with our members. Gov. Martinez met with over 150 kids at our Seligman Branch this afternoon to introduce the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s Zero Proof mobile app, an application that teaches kids and parents about the dangers of underage drinking, driving while intoxicated and more.
