🌟 Meet GP 🌟

In 2017, at just two years old, GP was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Did you know that children with Down syndrome are 33x more likely to develop ALL and 150x more likely to develop AML?

As most children return to school this fall, we’re reminded that many kids with cancer are still in hospital fighting for their lives, and too many are no longer with us.

October is Down syndrome awareness month ❤️

These are four moms we had the pleasure of meeting at our Golden moms event - do you know what connected them together? Their children all have Down’s syndrome & leukaemia.

Children with Down’s syndrome are at a higher risk of developing both types of leukemia ALL and AML.

This was so special to witness their bonds they were both emotional and happy sharing their connection because while they would NEVER want their kids to have cancer they formed such a strong bond together.

Meet Gianpaolo aka GP - a sweet, Scooby Doo-loving cancer survivor. After three years of chemo and procedures at @sickkidshospital, GP was declared cancer-free in 2020 and has been thriving ever since.

Due to the pandemic, GP’s Wish of seeing dinosaurs at Jurassic Park had to be postponed. Throughout treatment, kids like GP look forward to their Wish to carry them through hospital stays and appointments.

GP’s resilience and strength throughout this difficult time reminds us how vital wishes are for chronically ill children.
