Some of us are blessed to have those ride and die companions.

Those, who we can truly be ourselves with.

They are people who hold space in such a way that any emotional or physical pain can be easily shared with no fear of judgement.

When it comes to cycling it's the same. Whether it is needing to slow down, stop and wait while recovering from nasty hills, extra coffee stops or stopping mid climb to take a photo.

There's comfort in knowing you're not being rushed or judged.

I have a few of these people in my life which I truly am grateful for!

Finding your tribe can feel difficult and can take time. But when you do find them....Well let's just say the rest is history 😊

Wholesome interactions when you least expect them.

I was covering for one day at the school. But I left with a feeling and hope that this child will never forget our brief cycling time together 😊🙏🏽

We're incrementally going further and riding routes that feel comfortable to both father and son.

Hearing how they both enjoyed the route from North London to Greenwich following cycle lanes and NCN, where the route was quiet and with minimal traffic. Was music to my ears!

These are routes that I've discovered for myself and regularly use for work. The route offers a chilled and relaxed way to experience London in multiple ways.

I love riding long distances but equally love introducing people to good routes within London that will encourage them to cycle day after day 🙏🏽

Cambridge mosque isn't just an architectural wonder made with intention and for the whole community.

It's also the perfect place to finish for a long ride from London.

The outdoor courtyard with its flowing fountain is a space where stories can be shared and high fives and hugs are obligatory, when celebrating feats of endurance and the resilience of the human body.

It's been a couple of weeks since I took on LEJOG... and survived!

Cycling the length of the UK in 5 days was never a goal. The dream has always been about cycling the route. But between planning my daughter's wedding and answering the call of the wild, the LEJOG Audax was the balance.

Balance, yeah right!

This route was challenging from the beginning and proceeded to test every part of my very existence.

From the extreme heat at the start to the challenging climbs towards the very end.

So why do it?

This was a personal challenge, a way to quiet the internal negativity that I'd been carrying since last summer. It was to test my mind and body and overcome any idea of 'i'm not good enough'.

The reward?

It wasn't rolling into John O Groats or making the cut off times for each CP. It was witnessing the beauty of the UK during the day and night. Finding the time to be alone and marvel at places some people only dream of visiting.

The unexpected encounters with people along the way that truly highlighted the beauty of humanity and the love of people are willing to give.

My sincere gratitude to Andy Corless and his team of volunteers that made this event such a dream to be a part of. Along with the amazing riders I had the opportunity to ride with.
