Delulu is NOT the solulu. If you want more out of life, you have to choose to fill yours with rich experiences, relationships, and partnerships. Who lifts you up? Keep them. Nourish that relationship. Tend to your garden. Who drags you down? CUT THEM. Create small changes until it becomes an integral part of your growth and habit/s. Keep creating beauty. Identify your art. Ask yourself, "How can I contribute to the light and beauty of this world?"

The first crucial step is to take care of yourself. Get to know who you are through health and beauty. Set a time when you can sit down and do your makeup. Through beauty, you can get to know yourself, your wants, and - YOUR DREAMS. Because your dreams deserve to become TANGIBLE.

You are the great weaver of your dreams. Remember that. ✨️

When I sit down with my clients, one of the things I often ask is “How would you like to feel while wearing makeup?” I feel that how one feels emulates a much brighter light than what meets the eye. When you feel good, it shows.

COURAGE

Listen, I get it! Taking those steps, taking that leap of faith into something new - it's scary.
But instead of letting it stop you, accept fear and use it to propel you to where you want to go. Because the life you want is not going to wait for you. You would need to make moves - big leaps even. But know that you are loved and supported by the Universe - ALWAYS. It's not an easy feat, but it's worth it!

YOU ARE MAGIC ✨️

Almost 10 years worth of hard work compacted in a backpack. This is more than just a kit to me. This is an accomplishment. A representation of my journey of self-discovery and creative pursuits for the past 14 years.

I came to Canada when I was 22. A fresh grad with a Broadcast Communication degree, I had no sense of direction. But what lies beneath is that I knew instinctively that I was born to create. The life of an immigrant has its own privileges but with it comes a hard trek ahead. I was not born into wealth. Money does not grow on trees. Money always equals hard work.

I had to put my creative pursuits aside so I can help my mom pay off my and my brother's plane tickets to Canada. I started as a dishwasher for the hospital working 12-hour days. After 2 months, I decided to take on another job at an outdoor retail store part-time so we can pay it off faster. This is where I met a co-worker who was immersed in the local film scene.

I started volunteering as a makeup artist for local film productions in the city. I remember I got the flu for standing in the cold for 4 hours. But it truly re-ignited what I wanted to do. But of course, the reality of bills, debt, & supporting my family needed my full attention. (And I did it with no regrets & I would do it again, in a heartbeat)

I continued on pursuing other things that would make me & my family more financially stable. But eventually, when I was able to, I allowed myself to slowly dip my toes in makeup artistry part-time. It's not until this year I have allowed myself to trust the Universe and myself to dive in fully. This year, I am turning 36.

In life, there are no shortcuts. To get to where you are, it takes resilience, courage and dedication. The reality is there will always be situations, negative thought processes, failures that will beat us down. But the most important thing is that we acknowledge our mistakes, our failures, & own them. And allow them to propel us into greater heights. 🌱
