Take Me Home closed out its LA run at @am_cinematheque— home of @prooffilmfestival where the proof of concept short took home the Grand Jury Award in 2024.

Closing out our run, 9-1-1 star @oliverstarkk joined us to give a special introduction to the film. Oliver first met Liz through Ryan Murphy’s HALF Initiative Director Shadowing Program.

CAPE’s @graceyhkao moderated an amazing conversation with our writer-director-producer @lizziesarge and director of photography @farhadcine.

THAT’S A WRAP on the CAPE 35th Anniversary Gala. Thank you for our presenting sponsor @lexususa for making this event possible with us! We are deeply grateful for our friends (old and new), colleagues, alums, and partners and our volunteers (!!) for making this celebration a special one. We were able to make our first evening fundraising goal of $350K (with the giving moment led by our incredible host @alicomedy reunited with the equally hilarious @saagarshaikh!)

Had the privilege to help out @capeusa at their 35th anniversary gala. I remember finding CAPE and being amazed that such an organization existed to bring change through so many parts of entertainment. And even more astounded that the team was a small and mighty group of passionate, brilliant, talented women @michsugi @graceyhkao @jesvu @csharma @ssabrinapoon Rhian Moore.

Or I guess… I shouldn’t be surprised.

It’s a sign of a good night when my camera roll didn’t have many photos (though I had to capture one of my fav humans @kevynfong doing his red carpet magic). Thank you @theloungebooth for encouraging me to hop in and get my photo taken. It was awesome to see you bring out the laughter and light in guests.

The LIGHT of the many creatives gathering in COMMUNITY connecting us with old friends and new ones, gave me life to keep going in this business where “No” is often heard; and instead hearing, “Yes, let’s connect…let’s see where we can work together,” is the kind of CONN-ACTION to fuel one’s spirits.

So to be in a space where you see people similar to you working to tell our stories, to amplify represention, and to also find joy in each other’s company is such a beautiful thing to be a part of.
