Today, we remember. Tomorrow, we gather. 🇺🇸

September 11th carries a different kind of weight for so many who served.

Today we honor the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the men and women whose call to service was shaped by that day.

And we’re reminded why connection after service matters, too.

Tomorrow morning, @herresilientsea is creating space for women veterans to simply come together.

☕️ Coffee & Connection
Saturday, September 12 | 10 AM ET
Virtual + free for women veterans

No performance. No expectations. Just coffee, conversation, and sisterhood.

Today, we remember those we lost.
Tomorrow, we make space for those still here. 🩵

Our first asana is fetal position.

Even amongst the move toward becoming robots through artificial wombs (😩), they haven’t bypassed fetal position yet!

In fetal, our head & tail reach for each other across our front body.

Our first movements as babies are to reach out & look around, head up!

Our head & tail reach toward each other across our back bodies (our first back bends!)

As we’re conditioned into socially acceptable ways of moving, we become more linear & rigid, but if you watch a child dance & run you’ll see spirals, circles, & a head & tail that always intuitively seek to balance each other out.

In today’s world most people operate with hunched shoulders & a tucked pelvis from all our time on laptops & phones — this causes compression in our torsos & imbalances in our muscles & fascial lines.

All this affects our emotional bodies.

We are all connected as humans — a change in the part = a change in the whole, for better or worse!

To start nailing your backbends, you need to understand your head / tail connection (to nail all your asanas, really, but in more advanced postures it becomes more necessary)

You can see in my chinstand that my head & tail are dramatically reaching to balance each other out — otherwise this posture doesn’t work!

Take some time to tune into your head & tail today & see what their relationship is like 😚

If you want to work on this with me, you’ve got 3 more chances this week!

Sometimes you have to walk away & return to something to find the joy again 🥰

That’s what I did with my yoga practice! I walked away for almost two years, & trained in other ways — primarily weight lifting & pilates!

Then I came back stronger, & able to engage with my practice in a playful way — my self worth no longer depended on my practice!

I hope you find play in your practices this week 😘

Oh, how lucky I am to be experiencing this life alongside all these flower like souls, in the same lifetime🦁🌼🐥
Feeling alive, and understanding what it truly means to be alive.

Grateful for all that I have, all that is coming my way, and all that has left for the better💛🌻✨

When I gotta get my head right, I go upside down.

There’s a stillness there — an inability to hold on to the chew toys my mind loves in its ‘normal’ positioning.

Weightless & free for as long as I can hold it ♥️

(I think that’s the point of the challenge — how long can you hold the freedom)

Come practice the Rocket with me if you wanna prime yourself for this!

We don't just do acro, we celebrate each other! In the hot summer we sometimes go to the springs and do acro on the water. Come for the acro and stay for the vibes.

I used to never stop.

I was trying to prove myself, to myself.

I didn’t see or feel my own inherent worth, so I needed others to validate me all the time.

I did all the activities & I was a “yes” girl. I didn’t know what boundaries were. I barely slept. I didn’t rest.

Yoga found me during this period of my life & when I began, it was all about ego. It was all about reaching the next advanced posture. I didn’t listen to my body at all. I had to go balls (ovaries?) to the wall every time.

I totally burnt myself out on yoga & other things & I took a break from asana for about 2 years.

During that time, I managed to deepen into other parts of yoga. Things like meditation, finding my breath, presence, contentment, slowing down to feel my emotions & recognizing no one has the power to make me feel any way unless I hand it over to them.

I also deepened into other ways of moving my body, primarily lifting weights, which totally changed my stability! As someone who had worked for a lot of flexibility but not as much stability, this was huge.

I came back to teaching yoga because I genuinely missed it. I missed the breath, movement, & community.

When I returned, I found my practice better than I had left it, because I was stronger physically, mentally, & emotionally. I was more resilient & I had redefined success as being happy, not as external achievement.

My practice now is playful & joyful. I still do hard things, & I’m better at most of them, but that’s not what it’s about: it’s about my practice being a reflection of my internal world.

Sometimes we need to take space from the things we love when our ego has become too involved.

Sometimes we need to focus on a different facet of our passions, & we’ll know when we’re ready to return.

And your practice of anything: yoga, relationships, cooking, exercise, work…will always reflect your internal world. Whether it’s joyful, calm, stagnant, chaotic, you name it! It’s all just a map showing you yourself :) it’s up to you what you do with that map!

If you practice yoga & you’d like the chance to reflect with me, I’m teaching 4 times this week! Dates/times in the comments!

I am thrilled to be offering reiki healing at @bodhiandsolspa on Mondays!

Reiki is an ancient Japanese form on energy healing that uses pure life force energy to move stagnant energy through the body & encourage the body along its natural healing processes.

Because of my deep connection to nature, my sessions also often involve the assistance of animal & plant spirits, & sometimes enlightened ancestors or spirit guides!

If you feel like your soul needs a massage, reiki is for you :)

I hope to see you at Bodhi + Sol 🥰

How do you headstand?

Both approaches have benefits!

2 TIPS BEFORE YOU BEGIN!

1) NEVER kick into a headstand. Your cervical spine is the most delicate & important part of your spine. It’s not worth risking its injury for this pose! If you can’t float your legs either into an egg (knees to chest) or a straddle yet, work on your core strength & shoulder mobility until you can.

2) Practice a somersault! If you fall, somersaulting will be your dismount, so practice that a few times so that you feel safe to fall :)

Most students I teach go for Option 1 at first because it feels a bit more stable.

TOP TIPS:

1) squeeze elbows in! The most common mistake I see here is elbows too wide.

2) put as little weight on your head as possible! Pressing your head into your hand basket will take pressure off your head, which is a bonus! This is good prep for forearm stand as well :)

I started learning headstand via Option 2!

Option 2 is good for if you want to transition in & out of arm balances, handstands, chaturanagas, etc. It is also where to work if you want to do some fancy headstands with only your fingertips on the ground!

Which headstand do you prefer?

If you want to work on this with me, I’m teaching Rocket Yoga four times this week!

Next up: 6 pm tonight (7/13) @orangecityyoga

I was first introduced to sound healing as a form of crystal cleansing when I was deep in the study of crystals in 2018.

I had sound healing sessions privately & they were my first (non 🍄 induced lol) experience of journeying to another realm.

Then, as I became fascinated with ancient civilizations & aliens in 2020, I learned that so many of the ancient megaliths were placed that aligned with stars & were created to be sound healing chambers, or giant tuning forks! This fascinated me, as lore tells these were the portals aliens used to travel from other realms to Earth, via sound.

My voice was always my gift, & after years of shying away from it I started to truly hone & fine-tune that gift in 2023. I started to feel the power of song & music in my life & it was a pivotal step in my Home Coming journey.

More recently, I became a sound healer, quite literally because aliens & whales told me to, so that I could begin the process of birthing a new Earth with them: one where humans, animals, plants, minerals, & the elements all work together to cleanse the years of suffering & violence that have been dominant on our planet, & return Earth to the heaven she was meant to be 🌊🌎✨

Along the way, I’d love to share the power & my passion of sound with you, if you’re feeling ready to receive it!

I am currently available for virtual sound healing sessions, & in person sound healing in central Florida! DM me or email hello@cominghomeembodiment.com to schedule 😘
