ABOUT OUR POSTER ARTWORK: Lumen approached Artist & Printmaker Des Mac Machon to create our poster and program cover. We explained the difficulties one faces when creating work in public spaces. Artists seeking to create public art frequently encounter extensive administrative requirements and complex regulations. Securing the necessary permits and approvals can be a lengthy and exhausting process, often consuming significant time and energy. These obstacles can hinder or even halt artistic initiatives, making it challenging for artists to maintain their creative momentum. The poster image is Des’s interpretation of this process. We hope you enjoy his work as much as we do, check him out @desmacprints. Festival Supported by @artscouncilireland & @limerickcityandcountycouncil

Over the past 16 weeks, artists and makers have been shaping the world of our upcoming Halloween Parade, “Some Bones Won’t Stay Buried” . From carpenters and engineers to puppet designers, mask makers, painters, costumers, lighting and sound designers, photographers and more, their work lays the foundation for the magic to come. The build is just the beginning. Lumen’s Samhain Parade is brought to life by an extraordinary community - a variety of performers (from a general public to drummers, actors to dancers), our make-up team, the crew and the many volunteers who give their time and energy. Altogether it takes around 150 people to make the Samhain magic happen. These incredible people bring the vision to life with their passion and imagination. We can’t wait for you to see what we are conjuring for 2025 #handmade #gowlsnotghouls #samhainlimerick #bardofthomond #halloweenisirish #drunkenthady #shewillrise #theunderworld #folklore #communities #someBonesWontStayBuried supported by @artscouncilireland @isacsireland @limerickarts
