DCAW X @gramartproject

At the sixth edition of Delhi Contemporary Art Week, we’ve committed ourselves to environmental consciousness by partnering up with @gramartproject to curate our #SustainableInvitationBox.

Crafted by the skilled hands of artist Shweta Bhattad and the Gram Art Project, this initiative goes beyond aesthetics, aiming to strengthen the bond with nature and communities. Through Gram, we've aided Paradsinga village in MP, supporting women and farmers. Their path to eco-consciousness is reflected in their non-GM, IPR-free cotton and plantable seed papers.

The box includes:

* Borkut: Organic Jujube and Date powder from Gram Art Project Collective's farm.
* Roselle: Dried Hibiscus sabdariffa calyces for tea, sherbet, and more.
* Plantable, Gender-Inclusive Seed Bands: Crafted from naturally-dyed, hand-spun yarn of organically grown cotton.

Soak the peas in water for 24 hours. Take any container you have, fill your container with soil available, about 1/2 to 3/4 inch below the top and water the soil lightly. Sow the seeds on the soil. Cover the seeds with a layer of soil about the thickness of a green pea. Water the surface lightly again. In two to three weeks your crop will have grown 3 to 4 inches tall.

Alagangle is a space where one blooms, flowers while exploring their unique creative self. Recently, we have hosted a wonderful online art and design festival 2020, where speakers (artists, designers, illustrators, sculptors, architects and more) evening performances, late night story tales with everyday an interesting activity fulfilled our heart and mind. The responses to the fest was outrageous. Each and every participant started blooming in a unique way exploring their different shades. This month long fest experience, helped us to realize what we offered is the need of an hour and we must continue and offer more and more creatively. Henceforth, we decided to continue. To continue offering, to continue being open for you, to continue putting new things from around the world in your magnificent mind.
So here we are to announce that; We are always open for you all and coming to you with more play and joy to ignite you with wonder. #makerspace #makersgonnamake #painting #craft #nagpur #designstudent #designcareer #illustrator #illastration #graphic #graphicdesigner #graphicartist #artistsoninstagram #makerspace

Our artist, Shweta Bhattad has been understanding and researching about alternative ways of farming that helps in creating organic, chemical-free and sustainable living for past few years. As we come to terms with lockdown, Shweta Bhattad looks at how one can grow their own food and shares images from her farm where she has sown seeds of several vegetables, beans and tubers such as Jhumka Dodka, a local variety of sponge gourd.

The new started with a parcel today morning, from good friends Swetha and of Gram art project.
The pack contains 12 cards from each month, with an introductory card.

It's not everyday that you get to meet people who kindle a thought in you. We were at the Gram Dhara Chitra Utsav, organised by the Gram Art Project when we met Prabhakar Deotale ji, a Farmer by profession, who also writes and sings about the life of a farmer giving people an insight about what happens in a day in the life of a farmer.

CLIMATICAL OR POLITICAL?
An Invitation 'Climatical or Political?' is an invitation to celebrate the development in Paradsinga, an average Indian village.

In the last few years, Paradsinga, like many other villages, has seen its share of development; from the sanctioning of a Special Economic Zone to an irrigation project.

Gram Art Project invites you for an evening of performances, artworks and dinner to celebrate these developments.

On: Friday, 11 October 2019, 19:00 onwards
At: Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi ** Prior RSVP is required to attend ** To RSVP, write to gramartproject@gmail.com or WhatsApp on 9373112912

#ClimaticalOrPolitical is a project for #FiveMillionIncidents by #Actants #GramArtProject
