Yesterday I headed to Manchester to meet up with the fabulous @grant_carr_ and join him at @BritishBeautyCouncil to celebrate their #BritishBeautyWeek

They say beauty and just for clarification that does include HAIR! Their latest Impact of Beauty Report confirms what we already know about how important the hair sector to the economy and the power of a good hair day, but would you believe the stats behind it?

55% of personal care appointments take place on the high street, and for 86% of those visits, the appointment was the primary reason the person left their house.

A Tuesday train of thought.
Living and working in a city makes it all too easy to get overwhelmed by stress. And a lot of my friends and clients have been echoing this back to me. Whether it’s work stresses, social or love life tensions, keeping up with ‘that training plan’ , eating well, doing all your domestic chores or the geopolitical hellscape that’s live streamed to our phones 24/7: sometimes it can all feel like a bit too much to handle.

It’s at these points of overwhelm that I get the most out of cycling. For me, few things burst the bubble of day to day stress better than riding out of the city and up the hardest hill I can find (today was Gleniffer Road, Paisley. iykyk 🥵).
The combination of constantly pushing my body’s limits, the ever changing scenery, navigating through traffic and frequently terrible infrastructure, all while trying to stay alive, is an intoxicating mix of sensations that no screen can ever replicate.

What gets you through your week in one piece? I’d love to know.
And if you need someone to talk to about any of these big and small things, you can drop me a message and/or come and see me for a haircut and a chat.

Grant was judging this year as well as presenting. Grants is known for his skills in many areas including holding the title of @lorealpro Scottish regional colourist!
