We all do it… we are all guilty of it!

To accessorize an object is to, add extra parts to a larger item, like a car or a room, to make it more useful or attractive. Well, for us, pipe & cigar “enthusiasts” that object is our passions. Our hobbies. Mine outside of tobacco as you know is fly fishing.

It’s like when you see a guy at the food store, looking like he just stepped off the golf course. You know what clubs he carries, and probably from the logo on his hat, where he either played or plays.

But it’s different for “us” I have pipes that are built for comfort while on the river. Like these with the slight bends, lightweight and canted designs by @mikecouchpipes and @grantbatson or the cigar tube, yes made to look like a rod tube, however, made just as solid to protect my chosen smokes by @heritagecastco and since I am out in the woods, why wouldn’t I have a knife… that doubles as a cigar cutter!

You could say that “some” cigars are marketed to “hook” you.. but they’re actually made with stories behind them. And they’re really good!

I’ll be traveling to the land of many rivers soon, and will absolutely NOT be able to wet a line or wade a stream. But I will be bringing a few items along that will ease some of that sorrow.

Like being there, without being there. But while actually being there!

How do you combine your passions? What do you use for one, that directly correlates to another?

Also who’s got anxiety already over # OneShotPipeWednesday

Had a wonderful time visiting the workshop of master pipe craftsman Grant Batson in Tennessee. I walked him through a little printmaking, and he walked me through some pipe-making! @grantbatson

Quick pan over my current collection. What a journey it’s been becoming immersed into this hobby. Getting to know the artisans, listening to them and learning from them has been one of the best parts of this pipe journey. There are four factory pipes in this current collection but the rest of them came from an individual whose own story is being told through their craft. It’s been truly special to sit back and hold a piece of someone’s work in your hand, and to learn how to appreciate that moment. Truly appreciate the awesome work and thoughtfulness these guys put into their craft.
