Once again making sure undergrads know phd students can be cool and the stereotype of being perhaps unkempt isn’t true. They swore they didn’t hate physics today.
Finally cool enough to wear the jacket I got for my birthday, and I love it. So thank you to my fiancée’s parents for it. I’ve been gravitating towards workwear fashion recently. It’s such a nice vibe.

It’s my second time watching a concert alone. This time, the band that I watched was A1. Tickets went on sale in March 2026 and I had only known they were going to have a concert by June 2026. By then, tickets were sold out for their Manila leg date. They had tickets available for Laguna but I wasn’t willing to travel miles just to see them especially with gas prices hiking up.

Fortunately, extra seats opened up last October 8 and I was able to get a VIP seat (Row 6 from the stage!). And I was all set.

I got to the venue about an hour before the show started. As expected, most were my age. Some were a bit older and I assume they were in their early 40s because A1 was a popular band in the 90s and mostly catered to adolescents and young adults at that time. People came with their friends or with their significant others but there were people like me who went alone.

I must admit that that observation lingered with me especially during the songs that were not familiar to me but I brushed it off. I wanted to be in the moment and enjoy the concert. I also wanted to enjoy my independence and my being able to keep these moments to myself. Hardly anyone knew what I was up to. All I said for those who may have to call me was that I was simply unavailable. No more oversharing of personal details.

I thought of my co-residents and sharing some of the clips but I decided otherwise. There was absolutely no need to let them know. Besides, I wanted to continue creating a distance from them. Sharing would have meant I was putting down my boundaries again.

About the concert, I must admit I was a bjt underwhelmed. Lots of squeals especially for Ben but not much singing. It wasn’t like the vibe of M2M’s concert last year where even the second voice was sung by the crowd.

But I still enjoyed the concert because of the nostalgia and independence.

Diesel again after just wearing this mean boy about three days ago. Paired daringly with a light blue polo shirt and charcoal gray pants to help ground the outfit. And expect these to be seen more often.
