Starting off the week with some #winefacts about the white grape varietal: Sauvignon Blanc!
—
These grapes, in particular, are from Pouilly-Fume. This appellation is the furthest East in the Loire Valley and on the right side of the Loire River directly across from Sancerre. The soil here is very flinty with deposits of limestone which the locals believed imparted a smoky, gunflint flavor to the wine. Pouilly-Fume and Sancerre produce wines of richness and complexity with spicy/ smoky, floral, and mineral flavors.
—
When slightly chilled, Sauvignon Blanc pairs well with fish, shellfish, nearly any seafood dish like sushi, and savory cheese, particularly Chèvre.

Only a few more tanks left to dig out as #harvest2018 comes to an end!
The general consensus: the fruit came in incredibly clean, growing conditions were near perfect and we can't wait to get all of this juice in barrel!

Thanks to our awesome interns, Nick and Kellen, for joining us this year!

Life is to short for bad wine and boring socks!🍷
I wonder if mom will let me chew on the socks while she drinks her wine.🤔
Would only be fair I think!
