Side Lying Glutes on the Gravity Mat?!🤔🤯😍

S/O to @instructor_ivette for her curiosity and belief in @thegravitymat.

At our last content shoot, she showed us her favorite exercises using the mat—and to all our surprise, it was side-lying glute work.

After watching her positioning, her movement, and hearing her talk about how much more comfortable and stable it felt… it started to make scientific sense.

Here’s what’s actually happening:

⸻

The wedge support system gives your entire torso a place to rest, instead of forcing all your bodyweight into a few pressure points like the floor does.

On the ground:
❌Most of your weight gets dumped into the side of your hip bone
❌Your shoulder and elbow take on the rest of your body weight
(and that’s where the discomfort usually comes from)

On the Gravity Mat:
✅Your weight is spread across your entire side body
✅Not concentrated into one or two spot
✅Which immediately makes the movement more comfortable and controlled

⸻

But more importantly…

The angle of the wedge slightly elevates your torso, which helps put your body in a better position:
✔️Your upper body stays stacked over your hips
✔️Your hips don’t roll forward or backward
✔️You’re not constantly adjusting just to stay in position

⸻

And that’s what changes the exercise:
💪🏽Your glutes can actually do the work instead of your hip flexors or low back taking over and instead of fighting for position.
