Next month we have our winner of the first heat Gray Taylor! 👏🏻

Gray Taylor is a Brighton based poet originally from Derby, who has a musical background in hip hop, grime and RnB. He discovered poetry after attending an event at Brighton Dome called “Status Flo” hosted by AFLO the poet.

Gray describes his poetry style as “Conversational, punchline, storytelling” with focus on poems being thought provoking, relatable, fun and easy on the ear.

And our incredible headliner Anna Free! 🤍

Anna Free serves up poetic platefuls with juicy dollops of humour and a side of sassiness inviting you to share and chew over some of her observations on life.

Anna has written, produced, and directed her own show based on her self-published book The Innocence of Being Eve - a trilogy of funny, irreverent poems about a woman searching for love, meaning, and connection.

Anna won the Brighton Fringe Community Award for #LewesCurious in 2024 - a variety performance weekend.

Anna is the 2024 Hammer and Tongue Brighton Champion and was long-listed for The National Poetry Awards in 2022 with her poem Killing Time.

Anna is currently finishing an MA in Comedy Writing

Come along, it’s going to be a goody! 👌🏻
