The glamorous world of public art, folks. 😎

One of the LOTUS flowers had an electrical short, so Erin and I headed out in a boat, in the pouring rain, sporting some very fashionable ponchos. She hopped in. I crawled. Neither of us was remotely dressed for this adventure.

Erin knew exactly what she was doing. Me? First flower rescue. 😂 Thankfully, Dawn was holding down the fort on land!

We laughed the entire time. Because apparently this is what supporting public art looks like behind the scenes.

Apologies to Patti for cutting our meeting short. Rain check? Literally. ☔️

Real life, baby. 🌸🚣‍♀️

Wouldn’t trade it. Although I may need to invest in a better poncho.

“Come on board, where we going now”
A line from my favorite Friko songs- Choo Choo.

And honestly, that’s been a bit of my life lately.

Somewhere along the way, I realized this trip really hasn’t been about checking places off a list. It’s been about the experience of being there.

The Pacific Northwest was stunning. (A word I apparently used so many times I have to find new words)

Vancouver gave us water, mountains, great food, a boat ride, vinyl and wine at Bar Gobo, a suspension bridge my equilibrium did NOT appreciate 😎—and yes, a laundromat. Because this is still real life.

But woven through all of it- were the shows.

Meeting people who know the music. Who connect with it. Who show up for it. Who take it in. Watching this thing that feels so personal to me reach people in places far from home.

And then Red Rocks.

Watching Friko play that stage was one of those moments I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to put into words.

A friend said to me, “I can’t wait to hear about your trip.”

And I thought—how the hell am I going to explain it? 🤣

There are so many moments. So many people who I love and that I’ve been able to see. And an obscene number of photos.

But I think what I’ve learned is that travel is the continuation of new.

New places, yes. But also new situations. New reactions. New things that I noticed about myself- or maybe those things were already there, they just get louder when I step outside everything familiar.

And having the Friko tour as the framework for all of this has been pretty damn extraordinary.

Not only from a parent’s perspective, but as a traveler.

To explore all of these places while witnessing the impact this music is having on people along the way?

What a gift.

“Come on board, where we going now.”

Turns out, I’m pretty comfortable not knowing the answer.

The last couple of days…

From Napa and Sonoma, seeing more people I love—including Mrs. Dunn, a young 92, and her son Mark, who I’ve known since before I took my first breath.

Then north on Highway 101 through the Redwoods, with stops along the way that simply take your breath away.

Great wine, pizza in a Northern California rainstorm. 🍷🍕 @forkintheroadvineyard

Then at 5:30 this morning, the moon over the Pacific was just stunning.

What was supposed to be a long drive turned into an almost 10 hour one…but I’d do it again. The northwest is something special.

And somehow, without planning it, we drove right by the @friko4u van along the way. 🤘😎

Now here in Seattle. Another Friko show. More people we love.

Grateful for the miles, the beauty, the unexpected moments—and especially the people along the way.

Something worth waiting for- indeed.

My people.

From so many different chapters of my life- and all woven together.

So much history.

So much love.

Feeling incredibly grateful to have seen them along this FRIKO journey…

I’ve been looking for a lake house in SW Michigan since 2021 … been under contract three times and the deals fell through for a myriad of reasons. I’m being patient, but my patience is wearing thin. I’ve been renting this lake house for the past few years and it’s perfect but out of my budget. So I keep renting it and inviting friends to enjoy the lake life with me. I think they are all hooked. I’ll know when I find “the right one” so I’m exercising patience and being practical. The memories made at these lake trips are unforgettable. Cheers to a successful second half of 2026🧡🙏☀️🎤💕🇺🇸👙🥩🍾👀🐾🏈
