Garden Day at @seedmiami 💚🌱✨2.7.26

“We might think we are nurturing our garden, but of course it’s our garden that is really nurturing us.” — Jenny Uglow

We weeded. We cleaned beds. We hoed. We planted. We mulched. We fed the chickens. Barbie laid her first egg! We learned. We tasted herbs. We harvested greens. We put our love into the land. 💖

Message me to join Garden Days where you will get your hands dirty, connect with neighbors, learn useful gardening skills and support local Miami farms and food systems. It is essential that we connect with our food sources and learn how to cultivate to nourish ourselves. 🌟

Thank you to everyone who joined this magical day at SEED and to Muriel @littlerivercooperative for guiding us. 🪏🫜👩🏻‍🌾

11/10/24 ❤️‍🔥🌴🌞 I started hosting Sunday Dinners in 2014 from my house in West Philly as a way to experiment with recipe ideas and connect friends. It brings me so much joy to have continued the tradition over the past decade and now bring them to Miami. 💫

This dinner was inspired by the sea 🌊🐚🪼🌅⚓️

I substituted hearts of palm for 🦀 and 🐟 in several dishes, used sea weed, capers and Old Bay to evoke sea flavors and reinvented seaside classics with a plant based twist. 🧜🏼‍♀️✨

The Menu:
🥜Roasted Peanuts spiced with @oldbay_seasoning
🥥Coconut Cevice & Tomato Salsa with Plantain Chips
🦀Heart of Palm Salad with Crackers and Seaweed
🦐Tortillita de Palmito
🪸Kelp & Cabbage Slaw with Heart of Palm Croquetta
🌽Butternut Squash Bisque with sautéed mushrooms, green beans, purple potatoes & corn
🍋‍🟩Key Lime Pie with Pomegranate Caviar

Lots of love and appreciation to @brunogiordano_ @najjak @jakigoldner @holistic_area_ @islandboimario @khoover55 @veronikasonsev for coming this night!🫶✨🫶✨🫶
