Bear Down, @chicagobears!!!
.
A few years ago, @thescorechicago asked me to do a toy-recorder version of "Bear Down", as the team was consistently under achieving.
.
But now, the Bears are looking good, and I thought we needed a representative tailgate anthem.
.
So, here is Bear Down, if it were on @metallica's Black Album.
.
I couldn't do this without the help of a pair of Metallica loving buds.
.
@bootzmode - Vocals (from Metallica tribute - @whiplashchicago )
@jessenpr - Graphics / Art
.
There are 4 versions of this listed, as folks may want to use them for different occasions. I hope you enjoy!
.
Instrumental / Vocals / Without the intros.
All available on the @gregsguitarlessons YouTube channel!
.
Enjoy!

The Birthday Band played its first (and only?) live show on 5/22/26. There is a full 16 song multi tracked performance up on YouTube if you’re interested in checking it out. For now, here is a clip of one song, “Dylan Thomas”, by @betteroblivioncommunitycenter.

Middle fingers. Bathroom selfies. Night drives. The magic of people and places I love. Sometimes I think I’m getting too old for this but god it’s just too fun to stop.

@midwestlove and i decided to put a few shows together and it was magic. I love you dude. My heart is so full.

Not because there were sell out crowds or it broke the internet but because we played music for people who also recognized the fragile nature of what binds us all together. We need art. We need music. We need to experience it together.

Thanks @bishophillcommons @gregovertone 8am Chicago and @cultureshock_ for hosting lovely nights of music and community.

We are gonna need these places friends. Hold tight. Keep your heads up. Keep demanding that our society be good and just and beautiful.

Thanks to hosts. Thanks to those who came out. Thanks to all the friends and fans and fam that prioritized the nights. It means the world to me.

@karlvincent86 thanks for jumping up and

April 2026!
*
What a hoot ya'll, holy cow it's been busy! The Welcome Table is rocking and rolling, and we have some super fun shows and events to look forward to coming soon in May and through the rest of this summer!
*
I just wanted to take a moment here to thank you all for your support and for all the encouragement and energy going into helping me build and practice forward. There are some incredible developments in the works behind the scenes, and in due time I'll be sure to share that fun news with everybody. For now, please know that I am very grateful, very hopeful, and very active in the sense of purpose coinciding with opportunity.
*
Much love to you all in the meanwhile, and much power to each of you to choose and do better and live better every day. Cheers!

It's @teddywinters 40th!!!

He picked a pair of songs by a band I was totally unfamiliar with. But this album absolutely rips. I don't know how it flew under my radar. The @thedamnwells.band Assholes / What You Get.

He tagged in his long time homie & bandmate Bryan to play drums, and his sister / brother in law to cover backup vocals.

Shoutout to Tony for buying a harmonica, and learning this song the day-of. He hopped out to the car to practice while we were tracking drums!!!

Birthday/Guitar/Bass/Vocals: @teddywinters
Drums: @bryanfarris
Harmonica / Vocals: @rookieroaster
Backup Vocals: @jmanola
Recording/Editing/Mixing: @gregsguitarlessons
