Life comes at us hard and fast sometimes. Every day, we each have a choice in how we show up and how we live it. Trust me—it’s not always easy. Anxiety, stress, and depression can feel like the devil at work. That’s why staying mentally and physically ready matters, especially for the tough turns life throws at us.

And just to show how quickly things can change: after I made this video and was getting ready to leave dialysis, I started bleeding again. I ended up with blood on my jacket and all over the floor. One moment things were fine, and the next I was dealing with something unexpected and unpleasant. Life can flip on you like that without warning.

But even in those moments, we keep pushing, we keep fighting, and we keep choosing how we respond.

If anyone out there is struggling or just needs someone to talk to, you can always reach out.

I really want to thank those people like Rebecca @rejuvenatewhc who saw my recent post about some families needing assistance. She immediately reached out and said come down we got you. Thankfully we had a one or two others who have done the same recently. But it’s really not common.
I understand times are hard but people and businesses like this are how we are able to continue to support these families. Who are my lose they’re child from one day to the next. Please check out @rejuvenatewhc they are amazing and help peoples health. #losangeles

2021, the year that was. I focused on healing and advocating for myself as I watched everything change, yet so much stayed the same. Some highlights:

- 1 new job with an amazing, human-centered team where I feel supported and valued
- 6 new MLB parks visited
- 2 incredible backpacking trips
- 1 birthday spent at the happiest place on earth
- 1 weekend spent with some incredible souls getting certified in the grief recovery method
- 1 fun mariner season to watch
- 1 in-person kraken home game
- 20+ puzzles completed

So thankful for those I got to experience 2021 with. I am cautiously optimistic as I walk into 2022 to continue working some major life goals. Definitely feeling (20)22.
