A blizzard photo finish for the books at @goremountain in New York for the 3rd NorAm stop this past season. The team Gore did an amazing job as a blizzard completely changed the course and racing conditions. At the same time, the athletes had to completely change their approach heat after heat and day to day.

One constant throughout the storm: @theomclemore — 2026 North American Overall Champion—who snagged the best qualifying time, held on to win a tight big final and secure 1st place at the podium after a photo finish with the North American 2nd Place rider, @griffin___mason. It’s time to tell the world about SBX… Google it and you’ll see that “Snowboard cross is a high-speed winter racing sport characterized by high injury rates, intense physiological demands, and fierce international competition on courses featuring banked turns, jumps, and rollers.” But to the athletes who compete, the fans, the families, the coaches and more, it’s a way of life. We’re here to celebrate that, with all its gold medals and bruises and everything in between. Videography: @envolez.studio Editing: @stevenprevatt #snowboardcross #sbxworld #snowboarding

They use HOW many muscles? There’s a reason snowboard cross athletes train everyday (on top of working full time in the off season to support their SBX carers). The sport is so physically demanding—taking on 2 G-forces in berms—you have to be in peak physical condition or else you’re just not going to make it. #snowboardcross #extremesports #fitnessfirst

Share for athletes who need to hear this.

We asked @rose_s.f_ Savard-Ferguson about the biggest misconceptions people have about competing in SBX. Many on the lifestyle, and how hard it is financially, physically, personally, and mentally. Topping the list though—that the best athletes don’t thrive on pressure, but love of the sport. Videography: @envolez.studio #sportlife #snowboardlife #sbx

You have to love a race where the “fastest” competitor doesn’t always win. Videography: @envolez.studio editing: @stevenprevatt #snowboardcross #insidesbx #snowboard

While many see gold medal Olympians, the journey to the top is mostly self-funded and full of grind.

From being arborist, working golf course maintenance, snowmaking, and camp jobs–these athletes are working hard to finance their passion. Every World Cup, NorAm, and FIS race is paid for out of their own pocket until they make the national pro team. Even then, not all expenses are always covered. It’s dedication, sacrifice, and pure love for the sport.

What sacrifices are you making for your passion? Share your story below! 👇

What makes up a snowboard cross track? We’re breaking down the core features you’ll find in almost every race – from the start gate to the finish straight. Every element is designed to test a rider’s skill and precision.

Pro tip: going biggest in the jumps always looks cool, but in SBX it adds crucial time that can decide if your race day is over or not.

Which part of the course do you crush? Which needs work? Let us know in the comments! Video: @envolez editing: @stevenprevatt

We asked snowboard cross athletes why they love the sport, and what people should know about it. Here’s @griffin___mason , the 2024 Canadian Snowboard Cross Champion, back to back 2nd overall in the 2025/2026 NorAm seasons, and World Cup athlete who races for @quebecsnowboard and @club_prestige_snowboard . He works as an arborist in the off season and a snow groomer during the season in order to support his on-snow career. Videography by @envolez

If you know, you know. But we are on a mission to get SBX out to those who don’t know. To those who haven’t seen or understand snowboard cross. To all sports fans.

Help us reach 1,000 followers by sharing this and posting it to your stories. The greater awareness we can create, the more we can advance the sport and support of athletes who give it their all.
