The Midway Below is officially submission-ready!

Huge thanks to everyone who’s offered support, advice, and encouragement along the way — and an especially big shoutout to Brittany, who’s read just about every version this story has gone through.

So, what is The Midway Below?

THE MIDWAY BELOW is a YA dark fantasy/horror novel, complete at 75,000+ words.

When sixteen-year-old Micah’s brother vanishes into a traveling carnival, she follows his trail through the turnstile—and into a world that mirrors Dante’s Inferno. Beneath the painted lights and warped mirrors, each ride embodies a circle of Hell, demanding not blood, but truth. The carnival feeds on what’s left unsaid — Micah’s guilt, her grief, and the words she never spoke.

To find him, she must survive every circle. But the deeper she descends, the more the Midway remakes her — twisting love into penance and silence into sacrifice. The boy she came to save may no longer be the brother she remembers, and the truth waiting at the final gate could damn them both.

Nine Liars meets Dante’s Inferno in a gothic descent through guilt, memory, and sorrow — where silence can be as deadly as sin. Perfect for fans of House of Hollow and Rules for Vanishing.

Every ride is a sin. Every prize, a soul. Every choice, a cost.

Quotes from Brittany ✨
ON READING 📚: “Reading has helped with my anxiety and depression in ways I couldn’t have even began to imagine. I wish I would have never stopped before because it truly has been so healing.”
ON CULT 🕯️: “I have loved how being a part of this team has connected me with such like minded individuals that are insanely supportive and uplifting. That it has made me feel seen and heard in ways I a lot of times do not.”
ON FAV BOOKS 🖤: “A few books this year I’ve loved and devoured would have to be Hazelthorn by C.G. Drews, Hollow by Taylor Grothe, Runaways by Elle Mitchell, and Foresyth Conservatory by our amazing cult mother, I literally had dreams related to this book and I can’t wait for everyone to read it!”

If you don’t follow @grim_readerrr yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR. She’s cult leader recommended 😈

Thank you to my lovely PA @tarotcardpoet for support with graphics!

Recently Read ❤️ and Currently Reading ❤️

Serpentine Valentine 🐍🖤-- Kindle
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dungeon Crawler Carl 🍩😺 -- audiobook
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Good Luck Girls 🖤🌺 -- hardcover
-- 7 chapters left!

The Bombshell Devil's Advocate 🔥🦂 @nikkitabell
--audiobook (awaiting on my hardcover!)
-- 7 chapters in, 8hrs & 32 mins left

I find it hard to read multiple books at once, unless it's an audiobook for when I'm exercising or on the go and a physical book when I'm able to sit down and read. Does that make sense to anybody else??

What book have you currently read and/ or what book are you currently reading??

no pressure for anyone tagged 💃

If it wasn’t for @ellemitchellbooks I don’t know if @grim_readerrr and I would have crossed paths. So thank you for writing amazing books because I don’t know what I would do without her!

It’s ironic that I sent her a book we read together and she mailed me a book from the author that started our friendship. 🥹🖤

My heart is filled with so much gratitude. My long distance bestfriend (who I’ve never met) thank you for all you do and being your true authentic self.

Flip to the next picture and you can see that Elle wrote happy birthday!! (Internally screaming)!!
